1900s Kitchen Remodel in Navy Blue and White

One thing about historic homes – they don’t always have the best kitchens. They’re typically small and not very functional by today’s standards. Such was the case for a 1900s kitchen remodel by Haven Design and Construction that now proudly displays accents of dark blue against white cabinetry.

Dark blue is trending as an accent color in today’s kitchens. Benjamin Moore’s Hale Navy is an extremely popular choice that adds both drama and classic appeal.

Dark blue accents are repeated in the window valances and upholstered bar stools. Marbled gray and white counter tops and tile back splash help to soften the contrast of white and navy.

Cupboards flanking the industrial stove are painted navy blue, while the rest of the cabinetry is white. The contrast is a great way to break up an otherwise all-white kitchen.

In addition to the 1900s kitchen remodel, the pantry received an update as well. Storage, which is often lacking in older homes, is plentiful in this gorgeous and now functional kitchen.

The dining nook with built-in banquette gets a little bit of glamour with a pretty chandelier and upholstered chairs. Note the details in this space such as the bead board ceiling and the trim inside the transom window over the door.
