Beautiful Green Home Exteriors and Cabin Interiors: Friday Finds

This might sound a little morbid, but tomorrow hubby and I are visiting our memorial tree. We purchased our plot under a shagbark hickory tree during Covid. We go back to visit our tree once a year – usually during the fall season. The tree is located in Rock River Better Place Forest. There are no gravestones, just a small plaque at the tree to mark where your cremated remains are. I like the idea of my body resting under a tree in a quiet forest alongside the river. Not to mention, the colors are so pretty this time of year. There are Better Place Forest locations across the country if it’s something you’re interested. But now let’s get on with this week’s inspiration.

The color green is really having a moment right now – both inside and out. Check out this roundup of green houses in every shade of the hue that you can imagine!

Cabin style decorating is also trending right now, and I was lucky to stumble across some beautiful cabin interiors to enjoy. You’re sure to feel some warm fuzzies when you look through these cozy spaces.

Fall is all about baking, whether it’s something cinnamon, pumpkin, apple, or even sweet potato. I love a good autumn dessert or baked good, and Pioneer Woman shares 13 amazing recipes that don’t require a mixer. The pumpkin spice creme brulee has my name all over it! I can’t wait to make some of these goodies!

If you’re a fan of the cottagecore look, you’ll enjoy seeing this collection of charming bedrooms. Elements of cottagecore design are called out which makes it easy to get the look – simply by adding one or two of the elements.

And finally, enjoy touring an 1800s Nantucket home. I love the use of wallpaper and artwork throughout the home.

I hope you have a great weekend! I hope to get a little exterior painting done – just some touching up before Old Man Winter blows into town.
