Beautiful Kitchens. Just Because

Do you love beautiful kitchens as much as I do?  I don’t know what it is, but I never tire of looking at them. When I leaf through a decorating magazine, I always linger over photos of kitchens the longest. When I see a home tour on another blog or website, I’m disappointed if they don’t include the kitchen. Maybe it’s because the kitchen is the heart of the home where family comes together. So today I’m indulging my fetish and sharing examples of beautiful kitchens. Just because.

This first one is my ideal kitchen. Farmhouse style with plenty of cabinetry and work spaces. Toss in a trio of rustic pendant lights, a farmhouse sink under a row of windows, and you have perfection!

If you read my blog regularly, you know I love white kitchens. This one has stolen my heart. It’s light and airy with rich wood floors and painted bead board on the ceiling. The simple pendant lights add simple charm.

Would you ever use pale green in your kitchen? The tile floor and rustic beams keep it from looking too sweet. And then there’s that industrial stove to attract amateur and professional chefs alike.

Would your choice of beautiful kitchens include country farmhouse style? This kitchen exudes country charm with unique hardware, creamy cabinets, and rustic red trim at the window.

Retro charm works its way into a white kitchen by way of aqua appliances. A fun pattern decorates the back splash and wood beams echo the warm tones of the wood floor below.

For those of you that enjoy rustic kitchens, I think you might enjoy this one. Although there’s lots of wood, the room is bright due to all the windows. I’m envious of the expansive kitchen island, and the yellow stools are a fun touch.

  1. They all have a charm and appeal but if I had to pick one I would take the “country charm with unique hardware, creamy cabinets, and rustic red trim at the window.” I love the subtle colors and it looks like a soapstone sink and counters. I always loved brick floors, too. Thanks for the “just because” blog today.

  2. I love the first kitchen. I’m thinking about painting my kitchen island and cabinets, but I’m not sure what I want to do yet. I have a very small kitchen and I am debating on painting the island a taupe-gray, and possibly doing my other cabinets in a color like the first kitchen. Right now everything is natural birch and with my natural maple hardwood flooring they don’t stand out at all. I have corian countertops that have gray, white, and brown. I can’t think what to compare them to right now. I think the two colors would add some much needed color. Wish me luck! By the way, I live out in Sycamore so I’m very familiar with most of the areas you post about. I really enjoy your blog.

  3. I like the first one with it’s wood countertops and rustic pendant lights over them. Just seems to “go together”. Also liked the rustic kitchen with soap stone countertop and red window. Very charming. Thanks for sharing these. Lots of fun.

  4. Can anyone tell me where I can purchase the stainless hanging pennant lights from the ceiling in front of the kitchen window in the white kitchen shown above. I love them and would like to purchase them.
