Bold and Beautiful: The Allure of a Red Kitchen

Are you ready for a pretty surprise today? Today I’m featuring the allure of a red kitchen by Sheila Mayden Interiors. I don’t recall seeing many red kitchens, but this one in a Queen Anne Victorian home is beautifully done in a traditional and functional style. Plus it has wallpaper!

Look at the leaded-glass cabinet doors! They give the space a European vibe. Dark gray countertops, a black stove, and gold hardware give the red kitchen a sophisticated vibe.

A farmhouse sink is a great choice for Shaker style cabinets and a bead board back splash. Did you know the color red stimulates the appetite? It’s surprising more kitchens don’t feature this color.

This shade of red has a bit of blue in it which makes it so pretty and luxurious looking. I could easily cook and bake in this beautiful kitchen.

A beautiful wallpaper with a cream background pairs perfectly with the red cabinets and crown molding. I previously featured a retro red and cream kitchen on the blog.

The Victorian kitchen isn’t huge but makes great use of space and style.

The red kitchen has a butler’s pantry with a beautiful stained glass window. Gold sconces with pleated mini lampshades light the narrow hall. And did you notice the gold doorknob and hardware?

A small lighted cabinet at the end of the pantry holds crystal glassware. This view gives a better glimpse of the elegant wallpaper.

The kitchen has plenty of storage behind beautiful cabinet doors. The more I look at this kitchen, the more I’m smitten with it.
