Charming Old Farm Houses
Last year about this time I shared photos of some of the charming old farm houses in my town. Hubby and I went for a walk the other night and I grabbed my camera to get a few more photos of some of the local houses I love.
This house sits on a nice piece of property in town. Earlier this year it was a pale mint green, so I was surprised when one morning while out for a run, I noticed the owners painted it a bold blue and gave it a new porch. I like it so much better now.
Also on the property is this charming barn with a barn quilt.
Some areas offer barn quilt trails so you can take a tour of barns sporting a quilt square.
I’ve always loved this yellow clapboard house. It’s on the same street as my house.
Last year this house was empty but someone’s moved in and has been making renovations.
It’s a gorgeous house inside with loads of natural trim and an elaborate staircase.
On the front porch, the furniture is painted the same rusty red as the trim work.
I think this house has gone through more changes than any other house in town. It’s changed colors about 4 times since we’ve lived here, and the addition (on the right) was added a few years ago.
A few houses in town have barns on the property. I’ve been worried someone would tear this barn down.
But luckily, this barn is now going through a bit of renovation work, along with the house too.
From the side of the house, you can easily see the new siding that’s being added. The front is done.
I’m anxious to see what this house looks like when completed.
Here’s another Victorian style farmhouse.
I think most of the charming old farm houses in town were built during the Victorian era.
I know that’s when our house was built, and it’s one of the originals in town.
See more charming old farm houses in my little town!
I loved this tour! Thank you!
How awesome to see my 80 year old mother in law’s childhood home on your blog. (the blue with wraparound porch) The current owners have done a fabulous job showcasing the charm of this vintage beauty. Thank you so much for sharing!
I love this home tour. Really like the big house that has changed colors a lot with the addition.
Thanks for sharing.
Love this tour Jennifer. I love the yellow clapboard home on your street. That porch is gorgeous. Such beautiful old homes full of history.

Beautiful homes! I’d move right on in any one of them.
Thanks for the tour Jennifer. I love old farm houses and your town seems to have the market on them. They are beautiful!
Wonderful old houses, Jennifer. You’re fortunate to live in such a charming and historic area. I love that some of them still have barns on their property!
So lovely to see a little part of your world from all the way down the bottom of the world 🙂
What a sweet, historical neighborhood you live in, Jennifer! Love all of those vintage homes. Oh, the stories they could tell, huh? 🙂 We’ll be adding a roof over our back porch (finally!) either this winter or spring. Can hardly wait to be able to keep my wicker furniture uncovered during the summer. And we’re having the front porch renovated a bit, also. This old farmhouse deserves a bit of a face lift. 🙂 Thanks for the wonderful tour! Loved it!
