Christmas Decorating, a Connecticut Farmhouse + More: Friday Finds

This week I received the December issue of Country Living magazine and was surprised to see that two homes I’ve featured here on Town and Country Living were in the magazine! I guess great minds do think alike, after all. LOL. I haven’t made my way through the entire issue yet, but it’s one of my favorite magazines, along with Country Homes.

Today on Friday Finds I have two home tours for you – a craftsman style and a farmhouse. Both are uniquely done and I think you’ll love them. In addition, I’ve got some Christmas inspiration and a great way to protect your sofas.

First up, enjoy a cozy craftsman home remodel by Lawless Design. The kitchen is truly amazing, along with the unique bathroom sink! Before photos are provided at the end of the article – you’ll need to scroll left to right through them.

Roxanne at The Honeycomb Home shares really helpful tips and ideas for decorating a small living room for Christmas. Even if your space isn’t small, the tips can still be used throughout your house.

If you live in the Midwest or are planning to visit relatives in the breadbasket area of the country, check out this list of holiday getaways compiled by Midwest Living Magazine. I’ve been to the Lightscape show in Glencoe, IL (second on the list), and it’s fantastic. Best Christmas lights display I’ve ever seen!

Take a tour of this delightful Connecticut farmhouse that was once forgotten, but has been reborn into a home of comfort and beauty. The paint colors are included so if you see a shade that inspires you, you’ll know where to find it.

I have to include Jenna Sue’s take on Christmas tree decorating trends because she included my tree from last year in a lineup of 40 stunning trees. Mine is ninth on the list. I’m truly honored to be included!

This week I stumbled across a unique and pretty way to protect your sofa from spills. It’s a cute sofa cover, not a complete slipcover. So, easy on – easy off for washing.

For this week’s “blast from the past,” I’m including my instructions for making paper mache Christmas star ornaments. It’s an easy project, doesn’t cost a lot, and the glittery stars look so pretty hanging from the tree, on a wreath, or even gathered together in a bowl.

Hope you have a pleasant weekend! Is anyone working on their Christmas shopping lists yet?
