Coastal Style Home Tours and Celebrating Maine: Friday Finds

As I write this I’m sitting inside the charming Airbnb we rented for our trip to Maine. This is my first time to this beautiful state and I fell in love at first sight. So for today’s Friday Finds I thought I’d celebrate Maine with a collection of coastal home tours and a recipe for fish chowder. Hope you enjoy!

We’re staying in Cape Porpoise this week and there are PLENTY of pretty homes, like this adorable Cape Porpoise cottage you don’t want to miss. I’m truly in heaven walking the residential streets lined with historic and new homes alike.

Let’s celebrate Christmas in July with this cozy Maine cottage decked out for the holidays! You’ll find natural elements like greenery, oranges, and seashells – all done up in Christmas style. But I’m especially loving the fish plates on the wall!

Don’t miss this Maine island home that was purchased by a couple in their 70s – and they opened an antiques business at the same time. Did I mention there were in their 70s??? It’s never too late to live your dreams and formulate new goals!

A younger Brooklyn couple moved to Maine to start a new life. They also brought a dilapidated old house back to life, too. You’d never guess the windows had been boarded up when they first looked at it. Such a brave couple to take a leap of faith and bring this historic beauty back to life.

We can’t celebrate Maine without talking about seafood! It’s everywhere here. I reminded hubby about my healthy halibut chowder and he didn’t remember it. Give it a try if you’re in the mood for fish – and feel free to substitute the halibut for another form of fish.

  1. All fun, but I’ve always loved Molly in Maine and she made me “pine” for Christmas! Thanks for all the links and the chowder recipe.

  2. I loved them all. They each had so much character and things to see. Thanks and hoping you have a blast!!
