Friday Finds #65: Fall Inspiration

Happy Friday, friends! This Labor Day week has flown by and I’m anxious to enjoy the weekend. I’ve decided to pull the plants in my front flowerboxes which are looking rather sad. A trip to the nursery will result in getting cool weather plants and flowers to replace the dying petunias and lantana that never seemed to do well this in those boxes this summer. Sigh.

Fall Flowers in Window Box on Red Barn

This will be the first time I’ve ever swapped out summer flowers for fall bloomers in my window boxes. I’m kind of excited about doing it. I’ve never wanted to spend the money before, but I like the thought of extending my gardening efforts through October and possibly into November.

Since my house is yellow, I for sure want to get some purple asters and flowering kale. I love ornamental peppers too, I’ll just have to see what colors are available. So that’s what I’ll be doing this weekend – now let’s enjoy some of what I saw this past week!

This Week’s Friday Finds:

You won’t believe this barn house loft makeover! The before photo is pretty rough and the after photos are soooo pretty. I wanna curl up in that metal bed at night and gaze out at the stars through the window.

Although this post about the best kitchens is from 2020, I happened to find it just this week. I think the third kitchen is my favorite. What’s yours?

Another post from 2020, this fall home tour from Jenna Sue Design is sure to inspire you and will give you ideas for fall decorating in 2021.

Since we’re talking about fall, I’m sure some of you have already indulged in pumpkin flavored lattes and muffins. If you’re a fan of anything pumpkin flavored, you don’t want to miss my Pumpkin Fettuccine Alfredo recipe. Truly – it’s to die for (if I do say so myself)! Add a salad and a glass of wine and you’ve got a great meal to enjoy.

I’ll finish off the week with this beautiful outdoor fall table setting by Beth at Home Stories A to Z. It makes me want to invite friends over for an outdoor fall picnic!

Enjoy your weekend – hopefully you’ll get some sunshine so you can head outside for a late summer walk or lunch alfresco!

  1. The kitchens were all drool worthy, however, I think my favorite is #2, with the wood burning stove in the corner. I’d never want to leave! I could definitely see myself curled up with a mug of tee and a good book in that comfy looking chair!

  2. Those kitchens…all gorgeous. I have the floors from the 1st one in my laundry room, after 25 years a little tired of them. The third kitchen is pretty. I have always liked the look of nice rugs in the kitchen but I would totally spill butter or spaghetti sauce on one. My favorite is kitchen nine. That glass wall with the exposed brick is a stunner. Pumpkin time. Yay fall! Even though it is 96 in Boulder today. Sigh. I made a pumpkin cake yesterday (sugar free) and will certainly be trying your pumpkin Alfredo. Thanks for recipe.

  3. The loft was such a great place to hide out. I loved those little windows in one of the kitchens but, my favorite was the cottage kitchen , I think the 6th or 7th one. I enjoyed the fall tour and her little girl was so cute. Have a great weekend, thanks.

  4. I loved the loft. The kitchens were all very nice and my favorite was the 5th one. I loved also the fall tour home but I have to admit I was more interested in her cutie pootie daughter. What a little sweetheart. I have never done a pumpkin alfredo and I just might try it . I really love the outdoor setting the flower arrangement was to die for. YAY for fall !!
