A Cozy Home and Fall Activities: Friday Finds #71

This is the big weekend! The kiddos will be out trick-or-treating and I’ll be cleaning up the garden and prepping flower beds and the pond for winter. According to the upcoming weather forecast, this will be the last foreseeable weekend above 50 degrees. The cooler weather always seems to come on so quickly.

As we transition from October to November, my thoughts turn to Christmas. Thanksgiving always seems to get a little lost in the shuffle. I wish Christmas were celebrated in January so we’d have more time to prepare. Before the holiday decorations come out, I’d like to get a little deep cleaning done and possibly enjoy some stress-free baking too.

This weekend we head to my son’s house for baby Charlotte’s first birthday. I’m anxious to see her and the rest of the family. Shortly after that, Bear and Cove celebrate their 6th and 1st birthdays in November. Whew. I feel like there’s a lot of festivities coming up!

This week’s Friday Finds are centered around prepping for the next couple of months. I have vowed to keep decorations and holiday events much simpler this year. Let’s hope for my sanity that I stick to it! LOL. Here are a few things that I found inspirational this week and I think you’ll enjoy them too.

Friday Finds:

First, let’s start with a tour of this absolutely charming 1000-square-foot home that has lots of style and cozy goodness. It just goes to show that a home doesn’t have to be expansive to be impressive.

Since I’m going to focus on cleaning before doing any holiday decorating, this fall cleaning checklist will come in handy. I actually found several fall cleaning lists but this one wasn’t as exhaustive as some of the others. You can download the list and hang it up for easy reference.

Once the cleaning is done, a bit of baking is in order. I looked for cookie recipes but this list of best fall cake recipes tempted my taste buds more.

Of course, you need a pretty table to enjoy one of those beautiful cakes. I love this beautiful kitchen table setting at Finding Lovely. Everything about it is endearing.

Last week on my blog we took a virtual trip to see New England in the fall. This week I found a post by blogger Loi Thai that features Maine in Autumn. It’s truly beautiful!
