The Best English Country Kitchen: Rustic Haven of Charm

Today I’m so excited to share this beautiful English country kitchen by Design Shop Interiors with you. When I saw it I immediately knew I wanted to feature it. This kitchen has a perfect blend of classic elegance and rustic charm. And even though it’s beautiful, it has a casual comfort to it. The perfect place to cook, if you ask me.

First, I love the colors – taupe, white, cream – what’s not to love. And then there’s a fabulous apron sink below a beautiful picture window that provides the perfect view of the woodsy outdoors. Brushed gold hardware lends a bit of elegance, and I love the vintage appeal of the faucet.

Take note of the high-end marble back splash and counter tops. But you still get the casual appeal of Shaker pegs, bead board, and open shelving.

Take a step back to get the full scope of the charming English country kitchen. Look closely and you’ll notice the floors are planks painted white. I’m a big fan of painted floors – I have them throughout most of my home. They’re so easy to clean, too.

The kitchen enjoys a cozy little dining nook on the side with a built-in banquette. Unfortunately, the designer doesn’t mention the color of paint used on the cabinetry and beadboard, but a similar shade is River’s Edge by Sherwin Williams.

Shaker style cabinets are super popular right now, They’re the type of cabinets that have timeless appeal. The open shelves are perfectly styled, and I just realized I have the same cookbook – ruffage.

Small details in a kitchen can make a big impact – like the towel bar with hooks so that you can hang baskets in addition to towels. Love that!

  2. This is a very pretty timeless little kitchen. I like the colors-probably not something one may grow tired of in a year or two, like some of the bright colors I see in kitchen redos. I’d love to spend time in this kitchen!

  9. I love that this is a ‘real’ kitchen. The design firm is in my region and I am considering consulting with them for my Reno. The only negatives that I see is- where is the lighting? A teeny pendant above the sink with nothing else? And, that window needs to OPEN. Otherwise, love it!
