DIY Glitter Snowflake Ornaments
Christmas is less than 2 weeks away. Can you believe it? This year I got my decorating done early thinking I’d have more time to enjoy the holiday as opposed to rushing around. The time has gone by so fast! If you need a quick and easy project to finish up your decorating, you might enjoy these DIY glitter snowflake ornaments.
I love how these glittery snowflakes add a bit of bling to the holiday.
Hang them individually on your tree, or make a garland to wrap around it.
They started out as plain wooden snowflakes from the craft store.
I didn’t pay a lot for them, and you can find them in different sizes.
I painted half of them light gray, and half of them off white using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
Chalk paint dries super fast so I was able to finish these snowflakes in less than 2 hours.
Most of that time was simply waiting for the paint to dry.
After the paint dried, I brushed on Mod Podge.
Working quickly, I sprinkled two types of glitter.
I used both a fine glitter and glitter flakes. The glitter flakes add a little more texture.
I clipped them onto a sparkly strand with clothespins to dry.
I liked the way they looked so kept them just like this.
You could hot glue a small loop onto them to hang from the tree.
Or simply keep them displayed as a garland or banner.
I love my new DIY glitter snowflake ornaments.
I’ve created a Flipboard magazine filled with Christmas inspiration.
Take a look … it’s free!
