Let’s start with the queen of color, Alison Kandler. The dining room above is pleasing mix of powder blue and bold green. Toss in a bit of pink and you’ve got a wonderful collection of spring hues. The wallpaper is a soft pattern and doesn’t compete with the furnishings.
In the traditional dining room below, colorful wallpaper is separated from the colorfully patterned rug by an expanse of white wall trim. Most people tend to shy away from mixing patterns like this, but you can see how the white makes the space work.
Bright yellow chairs add zest to his colorful dining room and the color complements the lime green of the cushioned window seat. Green candles rise from blue holders while a rainbow of color adorns the wall above. White walls let the colors shine.
Bold pink and blue pair beautifully together in a corner banquette dining space. The modern chandelier adds to the cheery fun of this room.
Here’s another beautiful dining room from Alison Kandler. Pink chair cushions match the shade of pink in the graphic, floral wallpaper. A pale shade of green covers the shabby chic table while a soft green and white checkerboard pattern was painted onto the floor. Add a pouf of pink and orange blooms in a blue bucket and you’ve got the ultimate in a tasteful, colorful dining room.

If you prefer softer shades of color, you’ll enjoy this pastel dining nook that looks ready for spring. Even the kitchen cabinets in the background wear the same shade of pale blue.

Guess who designed this dining and kitchen space? If you guessed Ms. Kandler, you’d be right! I love the use of pink, purple, and yellow in this cottage style dining area. The colors all have a bold saturation level, which makes them work together. There’s also just a touch of green in the chandelier and wall art.

Last but not least, you can enjoy another colorful dining room where each chair wears its own color. The shades are picked up in the China cabinet behind the table. And note the orange hallway to the left that echoes the color of the candles in the chandelier.
I hope these cheery rooms brightened your day. And maybe then even have you thinking about painting your dining chairs or table!
Hi, Jennifer- I loved all the dining rooms here and I am a fan of Ms. Kandler.
Right now I am making over my enclosed front porch, in pink and blue.
Since it gets too much sun at times, I was lucky to find light blue and white plaid block out curtains. My area rug is a pastel pink pattern with hints of yellow and some more pastels.
Plus white wicker furniture. It’s really fun and different.
Thanks for all the great ideas you share with us.
Susan- Your porch sounds like an amazing space. It makes me smile just to imagine it! 🙂
PS: That “square” at the end is a really big smile!
I really love the pink chairs against the outside view. I also can relate to the multi color chairs too. It gives you so many options to use different pop colors.
I love color, and mixes of pattern. These dining rooms are so fun and un-fussy.
Thank you for a great post!
Wow, love all of these.
So cute. Pink lover. Gives me inspiration.
Lots of color and fun in each room!
Happy spaces with all the colors, I enjoyed this post, thanks
All of the dinning rooms look pretty and happy…but….I would tire of pretty/happy in a week or maybe soonner. Very nice for the young family.
I actually like them all. Not really a fan of the bold blue and pink room and I just don’t care for a real modern style but they all look nice and I love the uses of color.
Hi Debra! Glad you enjoyed these dining rooms. It was a fun post for me to do. Color is always cheerful.
