Earlier this week I shared warm and cozy living room ideas. We’ll keep those fires burning with some truly beautiful fireplaces and mantels. Like this vintage Victorian style mantel.

I’m not sure why there’s a hippo standing at attention next to this cozy fireplace, but she’s kinda cute.

Floor-to-ceiling fireplaces always remind me of the one in my childhood home. I need to find some pictures of it and scan it for you to see. The rocks jutted out just enough that we could grab hold and climb it all the way to the ceiling.

Paint the walls a dark shade to make a gorgeous marble fireplace stand out. This room has so much architectural detail to enjoy. Did you see the ceiling?

Natural wood creates a fabulous fireplace in a cozy den. I’m lovin’ the script shades at the windows, too.

My friend Amanda at Sincerely Marie Designs has a fireplace similar to this one in her living room. I love mantels that include a mirror like this.

Simple scroll work adorns a more modern country style fireplace. The tile blends beautifully with the stain of the wood.

Which fireplace did you like best? I love looking at all the different options, but my heart is always drawn to the older fireplaces.

  1. Hello Jennifer,
This is Fifi O’Neill. As you know I subscribe to your feed but this is not about homes but about a book (RESCUE ME: The Love Stories of humans and the Animal they Saved) I produced for animal charities. The reason I am asking is because if you could post the cover and a small write up it would help promote the book and 100% of the proceeds benefit animal rescue groups and shelters (I am NOT taking a penny for producing it) . If you can’t I completely understand but if you are OK with doing this let me know and I will send you the cover and a short write up. Thanks Jennifer. xo fifi
