Fall Decor in My Farmhouse Kitchen
It’s late August and I’m no where near ready to usher in Fall, but I do love mums and autumn flowers so I had to bring just a few touches of Fall decor into my farmhouse kitchen. I love late summer as it transitions into the next season. Our vegetable garden is ready to harvest and I’ll be spending plenty of time in the kitchen canning tomatoes, so I might as well make the space pretty!
Although the days have started to shorten, there’s still plenty of sunshine to be had in our cozy farmhouse kitchen. Hubby and I are trying to enjoy every last drop of summer sun by going for walks and eating outdoors.
I’ve brought in a few mums and a couple of colorful ceramic pumpkins as we head into September. I want to focus my fall decor more toward a farmhouse theme this year.
So you’ll be seeing more farmhouse friends around these parts in the days and weeks to come.
I recently found this metal sign promoting French wine and decided to take it home with me. Last weekend hubby and I attended the Naperville Wine Festival with my son, his fiancee Amy, and her parents. We had a great time tasting all the fabulous wines together. Next weekend we go wedding dress shopping!
I love Fall mums! It’s hard for me to pass them up in the store. I need to find a few more for the front porch because in a few weeks I’ll be sharing my Fall home tour with you.
My aqua colander is filled with organic Gala apples. I can’t decide which I love more … Honeycrisp or Gala apples. We have an apple orchard just 5 miles from our house and every year we go apple picking. I’ll share more about apples later this week as we celebrate them for Farmhouse Friday.
On the windowsills above my sink, I’ve got a trio of miniature Fall petunias.
The flowers match the color of my new kitchen towels.
I wrapped the garden pots in burlap ribbon and tied them in place with twine. It’s such an easy way to cover up those ugly plastic pots. I’ll soon move these outdoors to the garden to enjoy until we hit our first frost.
I’ve got a few more additions to my farmhouse kitchen to share with you, but I’ll save that for later.
Sometimes just a few small touches are all you need to transition from one season to the next!
Don’t forget … you still have time to enter to win the book, Mason Jar Crafts for Kids!
Yes, Summer is getting shorter, but Fall colors are so beautiful specially in the mums and your basket arrangement is sopretty. I love your white farmhouse kitchen, it looks so lovely with the little touches of Fall.
Have a nice week.

I love the start of your fall decorating!
I adore your home, and your kitchen is ultra cozy! You have such a welcoming and sweet style that everything always looks fantastic. Love the way you covered the plastic pots. I’ll remember that one!

Jennifer, I love your little touches of fall. I’m not quite ready for fall yet either and I’m also trying to enjoy the warm weather by doing a lot outside before fall arrives. Thanks for sharing.
Спасибо большое за ваш журнал. В нем я нахожу интересные идеи для своего загородного дома. Читаю с удовольствием.
Hi, Jennifer! I adore your country kitchen — it’s so cute and sweet!
I saw burlap swag curtains on pinterest that were knotted at the ends. Do you sell these curtains?
