A recent trip to World Market changed my decorating plans for the family room. I found a beautiful object in the store that I admired, and noticed happily that it was on sale for 50-percent off. I told myself I didn’t need it and kept shopping. But it haunted me. Halfway through the store I…
The past couple weeks I’ve spent more time in the garden and less time in the house. We had a bazillion weeds that were out of control and I knew if I didn’t get them pulled quickly, they’d take over the entire yard. We also managed to get our vegetable garden planted. I did have…
Most of us have a treasured collection at some point in our lives. Maybe you collected marbles or pretty stones as a kid. And now, you might have a collection of beautiful shoes or pillows for every season. I’ve always been a fan of dishes and pottery and appreciate all the beautiful ways to display…

I envisioned being a Danish child putting my wooden shoes by the fireplace instead of hanging stockings. Or dreaming of one day having a collection of colorful German nutcrackers. Participating in a Mexican Posada to mimic Mary and Joseph’s journey…

Love it all.
I love the simplicity of it all Jennifer. No fuss and clutter, just beautiful useful pieces and a lovely touch with the white glasses like your grans. Don’t you love it when you find thrifty finds that remind you of a time in your own childhood.
Very fresh looking, Jennifer! Love the simplicity of your table setting. The book page runner is very creative. We are going to our daughter’s for Christmas day also. I still have no idea what we are having Christmas Eve, but it will just be myself, hubby and our son so I’ll keep it easy and simple.
Jennifer, I LOVE your touches of Christmas in your dining room. I need to work on mine today. I just may borrow a few of your ideas. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Gail

Love the green and white. I have lots of red this year so this gave me the idea to do some white with all of it on the table. I have lots of white so no excuse to do the same old boring thing I always do.
