One of my favorite schoolgirl memories of Christmas was studying how other countries celebrate Christmas. I envisioned being a Danish child putting my wooden shoes by the fireplace instead of hanging stockings. Or dreaming of one day having a collection of colorful German nutcrackers. Participating in a Mexican Posada to mimic Mary and Joseph’s journey…
Today’s fresh country style home by J. Steven Kemp pairs two of my favorite decorating staples – wood and the color white. The rooms are warm, inviting, and beautifully styled. The living room contains a variety of textures. Shiplap walls hug the room, soft linens cover the armchairs, and earthen pottery graces the built-in shelves….
Spring decorating is in full force this week at my house. Yesterday I shared my spring sitting room and today I’m sharing the other side of the room. A spring mantel, which is decorated with a few blue and green items that caught my eye in my favorite store. During a recent trip to Cocoon…

My home is appearing in the new book “Creatively Christmas ~ Inspired Yuletide Decor” by Jennifer Rizzo!! I’ll never forget the day last year when I opened an email from Jennifer telling…
Can I just say something before sharing the latest round of holiday shots? I’m worn out! I’ve never been exposed to so much talent and inspirationย until Iย discovered blogland …ย and while I want to try all the latest projects I see … I just can’t keep up! I had plans for embroidered ornaments, burlap stockings, moss…

Love it all.
I love the simplicity of it all Jennifer. No fuss and clutter, just beautiful useful pieces and a lovely touch with the white glasses like your grans. Don’t you love it when you find thrifty finds that remind you of a time in your own childhood.
Very fresh looking, Jennifer! Love the simplicity of your table setting. The book page runner is very creative. We are going to our daughter’s for Christmas day also. I still have no idea what we are having Christmas Eve, but it will just be myself, hubby and our son so I’ll keep it easy and simple.
Jennifer, I LOVE your touches of Christmas in your dining room. I need to work on mine today. I just may borrow a few of your ideas. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Gail

Love the green and white. I have lots of red this year so this gave me the idea to do some white with all of it on the table. I have lots of white so no excuse to do the same old boring thing I always do.

Simple and festive, Jennifer. I love it!
So soft and pretty. I love the simple decor and what a great idea to decorate each plate with a couple of bulbs. The green looks perfect against the neutrals.
