Friday Finds #15: Welcoming Fall
Technically, it’s not officially fall but today’s weather feels like autumn to me. It was only 58-degrees on my drive to work with a light rain falling on the farm fields. Next week it’s back up to the 80s for an Indian summer.
Last weekend we took our Labor Day trip to the Knoxville area of Tennessee and I’ve got pictures to share next week after I do a little photo editing. It’s a beautiful area and if you live in the volunteer state, I’m completely jealous of you!
My daughter hopes to move to Nashville in four years, and then closer to the Smoky Mountains when her daughter is out of school. That got me to thinking about retiring in Tennessee so our trip was meant to scope out the area. I do want to check out the Chattanooga area, too – hopefully next spring. And I don’t plan to retire for a while so I’ve got time to plan and dream.
I’m excited about sharing my Friday Finds this week. I discovered some cool stuff that I think you’ll enjoy.
This Week’s Friday Finds …
Lately I’ve been obsessed with the color green so you can imagine my excitement when I found an article at Scout and Nimble about the best green paint colors.
Emily Henderson shared a post about the 7 key elements of craftsman style. I find this decor to be so warm and inviting and lucky is the person who lives in a craftsman home.
It’s not too late to putter about in the garden, and right now might be the perfect time to add a greenhouse, like this DIY custom greenhouse from Arrow and Twine.
I know y’all know it’s pumpkin flavor season so I don’t want to disappoint. Try my Pumpkin Fettuccine Alfredo recipe for a tasty twist on pasta. It has a subtle pumpkin flavor and trust me – the calories are worth it!
Lastly, I spied this cool interior decorating flip book that has lots of inspirational photos for decorating smaller spaces.
It has been chilly of late.
Last year on Sept 10 it was 90+ yesterday–not so much and rainy.
Hope that you find what you are looking for in Tennessee.
The weather in the Northern Illinois for next week does look warmer than this.
I am so glad you enjoyed your trip to Tennessee. I look forward to seeing your pictures. As with any state, they all have their pros and cons, so do your research.
Loved all of your finds especially that craftsman home. It was spectacular. Thank you for the share.
I can’t imagine your visit to TN was anything but spectacular. Wish that you could go back in the Fall. Now THAT is something to behold!
YAY. Retire to TN? You’ll be half way to North Central FL! 🙂
I pray you find a wonderful place to retire to. I enjoyed this post and some of those greens were really pretty. Have a great weekend.
I enjoy your posts and pictures!
We just moved to Greenback TN along the Tennessee river. I raised my kids in Geneva and my finace is selling his home soon in Lily lake. We are in love with Tennessee! It has shown to be a great place to make memories with all of our grandkids too. The knoxville area is wonderful.
Have fun with your search.
