Friday Finds #69: A Book, Calendar, Food, and Warm Decor

Hello friends! How are things in your corner of the world? I’ve been feeling a little overwhelmed because I’m spinning a lot of plates these days. But the good news is I recently wrapped up a 300-page coffee table book project at my day job. My co-worker, Lori, and I celebrated the completion of the project that showcases man-made water features from around the world by going out to dinner last Friday night. I wrote and copy-edited most of the book and she tackled the daunting task of designing all the pages. She’s so easy to work with and we’ve become friends over the years. The book is now off to the printer and I can’t wait to see it in print. I plan to give away a copy of it when it ships, so stay tuned for that!

So you’d think I wouldn’t feel so overwhelmed with that project removed from my task list, but I replaced it with something else that’s not work-related. More on that tomorrow! For now, let’s get on to today’s inspiration!

This Week’s Friday Find:

First, I want to give a shout-out to my friend Danielle who blogs at Finding Silver Pennies. She and her husband worked together to create the sweetest little calendar for 2022. As soon as I saw it, I ordered one, pronto! I’ll probably buy a few more to give as Christmas gifts. I can think of a lot of people who would love it.

Looking for something a little different when it comes to decorative mirrors? Centsational Girl shares some beautiful, sculptural mirrors in organic shapes that are so pretty. I’d love to have one of the hickory ones.

Or maybe you’re in search of a new area rug. Houzz shares all the rules for selecting rugs – and how to break them!

For those of you who enjoy fall gardening, check out these pretty fall planter ideas that Debra at Common Ground shared a few years ago. It’s not too late to make one, or two, or more of these.

You don’t want to miss this beautiful guest bedroom makeover by Miss Mustard Seed. And just an FYI – the $500 giveaway mentioned in the post is already over. But the bedroom is still a must-see.

This weekend I plan to make my favorite Italian Vegetable Soup. This is soooo good, and healthy too! Not to mention you can make it in minutes. It’s perfect with a crusty loaf of Italian bread.

I’ll end this week’s Friday Finds with Janelle Trinette’s fall home tour from last year. If you love the color brown, you won’t be disappointed. I think her dining room is the perfect place for Thanksgiving dinner!

Have a great weekend, friends!
