Havin’ a Good Chair Day

I’m in love. Butterflies in my stomach and feelin’ giddy all over. Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is the next best thing to sliced bread. I’ve been reading about this paint all over blogland and finally tried it out on my dining table and chairs. I mentioned in a previous post that I’m making some changes to my dining room and asked for opinions on what color to paint the Windsor chairs. You can see them in their original state here. The popular response was black, but ASCP doesn’t come in black … it does however, come in Graphite.

I love the richness of this color.
I distressed it just a smidge and then rubbed it down with ASCP Dark Wax.

Had to include a close-up of my clock.  🙂
The dining side chairs are painted in ASCP Duck Egg Blue.
They were my first chalk paint project.
I had a couple leftover gourds from Thanksgiving.
I’ve always loved orange with this color blue.
Distressing the chairs is fun … kinda therapeutic in a way.
I love the little scallops on the chairs. I used clear wax after painting.
A closer look at the poinsettia. Love the creamy flowers.
Now that the chairs are done, today I headed into the bathroom to paint the cabinets.
I’m trying Paris Grey this time. The only bad part of that is … now I think the bathroom
walls need a new coat of paint as well. Sigh. The projects never end.
Have you ever used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint? If yes, what’s your favorite color?

  1. Your projects are lovely! I too have seen the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in many posts but have never tried it. I have a bench I have been planning to repaint but it will be on a covered porch. Not sure if the ASCP will hold up outside.

  2. You did a great job distressing that black chair. It looks natural. I added you to my side bar so I can keep an eye on your cute projects like this. 🙂

  3. I haven’t used the chalk paint yet, but I’m certainly loving your projects! The blue chairs are my favorite! Since my favorite color is gray these days, I’m looking forward to seeing your bathroom cabinets!

  4. Hi Jennifer, Love your chairs! The Duck Egg blue is one of the colors I have loved from seeing it in blogland. I have been wanting to try ASCP for a few months now. I bought a sofa table at a yard sale last summer and want to paint it so badly. Starting on a beadboard living room project so probably won’t get to for a while. Now following you.
