Beautiful and Timeless Traditional Home
Happy Sunday, friends! It’s time for another enchanting home tour and I decided to resurrect an oldie but goodie. Today we’re touring a previous home feature that belongs to Home by Heidi. Her home features traditional style that’s still relevant today – it’s one of the perks of decorating in a classic, timeless style.
Heidi’s living room is … well, perfect. It’s easy to see the symmetry in this room which makes it so appealing, along with the softness and subtle patterns. Did you notice the ice cream bucket on the tufted ottoman, with white tulips elegantly drooping over?
Step back a bit and you get the big picture view of this space. I love Heidi’s use of architectural detailing in her home and the way she mingles patterns. I can’t help but smile looking at each room in her home.
A beautiful rug sets the stage in the bright and airy dining room where dinner is set for an intimate meal. The painted bench pairs effortlessly with the more formal, upholstered end chairs.
When I think of a timeless kitchen, Heidi’s is the image that comes to mind. Old World cabinetry in creamy colors highlighted with simple but unique pendant lights. Heidi painted the pantry door a shade of duck egg blue instead of matching it to the cabinets. Heidi’s kitchen was featured in Country Woman Magazine – it’s easy to see why!
Heidi has mastered the art of bed-making. Her master bedroom wears white paired with cool blues. Six different patterns are used in this room, and it works beautifully because the patterns are of different sizes in the same colors.
Heidi’s teenage daughter enjoys a Tiffany-inspired bedroom. It’s a little bold, and a little glamourous.
Her younger daughter has an equally beautiful bedroom, fit for a princess. More soft patterns, a pretty chandelier, and fun flowers on the wall. I love the use of color in this space.
The boys are getting their dream sports-themed bedroom, too. ย I appreciate the architectural elements added to some of her rooms, like the wall treatments in this space. It’s such an easy way to add charm and depth.
The hall bath is fun in black and white. Heidi cleverly and effectively uses bold pattern in this small space to lend a bit of drama.
Even Heidi’s patio can’t escape her artistic touch. What a serene spot to enjoy the outdoors and unwind at the end of a long day. I’m lovin’ that fire feature. ย Who else besides me is ready to move in?

I agree with you that the bones of this home are spectacular! The millwork is perfect and really provides a wonderful backdrop for the decor.
However, I see that you originally posted this 10 years ago. While the decor is traditional and classic, it is definitely showing its age. The rubbed white finish on the kitchen cabinets, stools and furniture is outdated–no one is doing this now. I also find the colors and patterns way too pale and timid, but that’s just me. I’m sure Heidi and her family are loving living in this home.
