How Beautiful Wicker Furniture Adds Texture and Depth to a Room

When decorating a room, one of the easiest ways to create warmth and visual interest is by layering different textures. Wicker furniture is especially good at this because its woven surfaces add natural dimension that contrasts beautifully with smooth materials like painted walls, glass, or upholstery. Whether used in a bright cottage living room, a relaxed sunroom, or even a traditional space, wicker pieces introduce a sense of casual elegance that makes a room feel welcoming and thoughtfully styled.First up in a light and airy living room, wicker seating immediately adds warmth against the soft neutral palette. 1. I adore wicker, especially rattan!!! I don’t have any furniture pieces since we downsized, but I accessorize with it. I have been able to scoop up some real treasures at thrift stores and estate sales. One of my favorite bought pieces in my whole home is a large rattan rectangular French laundry basket with hinged lid that I scored for $7! I have been blessed to find several large rattan baskets at great prices that are stunning accent pieces. The rattan pieces are a wonderful juxtaposition to our sweet inherited furniture pieces, rugs and like blue/white chinoiserie, it is timelessly classic and beautiful. Thanks for spotlighting wicker today with the lovely rooms. I especially enjoyed the porch on the river. Sigh.

  2. I am a big fan of wicker furniture especially when mixed in with more traditional style furniture pieces. It brings a texture and warmth that nothing else does, and it lasts a surprisingly long time!
