How to Coordinate Your Christmas Tree with Your Mantel
Christmas trees and mantels go together like peanut butter and jelly. It seems like most people place their holiday tree near their fireplace or mantel, if they have one. So I collected some inspiration to help you pair your Christmas tree and mantel together for a festive and coordinated holiday vibe.
A red and white theme pervades this somewhat rustic Christmas living room. Red ornaments hang from a frosted tree while candy stripe stockings hang from the mantel. A heart-shaped berry wreath and white candles complete the look.
Here’s an idea for those who like elegant and feminine. White peony-type flowers are tucked into both the tree branches and the garland above the fireplace. Fancy scrollwork molding on the walls simply adds to the Victorian theme of this holiday space.
How fun is the tinsel type garland on this Christmas tree? Pretty fun! The white ornate mantel is simply decorated allowing the tree to shine.
Pastels can be especially pretty during the Christmas season. The same ornaments and mint green glass garland are used on the tree and the bough on the mantel. Pastel ribbons on the packages keep the venue soft and fun from head to toe.
A rustic room gets a touch of holiday whimsy with a cute moose figurine on the mantel beneath a wreath decorated with red mittens. And rather than a trio of stockings, a mitten, stocking, and hat hang from the faux fireplace. In lieu of logs, a row of small candles are lit. The tree enhances the whimsical vibe with candy canes, large jingle bells, and a collection of red, blue, and gold ornaments.
LOVE this holiday room! It may be too white for some of you, but I love its understated elegance with metallic accents and two Christmas trees as opposed to one. The garland is hung high above the mantel, which is a nice change of pace. The set of golden mirrors is the icing on the cake.
Do you prefer a rustic, country Christmas? If so, then this tree and mantel duo is right up your alley! Lots of textured pieces with red touches throughout create a cozy holiday vibe. The little reindeer is a cute addition.
Here’s a Christmas tree and mantel for the traditionalist. Even the candy cane and polka dot packages get in on the act.
A red brick fireplace lends itself beautifully to Christmas decorating. Red and gold are used to create a rich and cozy place to gather for the holiday.
Whitewashed wood walls provide the backdrop for this pretty Christmas scene with red ornaments and wooden houses. I like how a few smaller ornaments are hanging from the garland.
Have you started decorating for Christmas? I was going to wait, but we (where I work during the day) decided to do a holiday photo shoot at my house on Monday. Not to showcase my house, but to feature an indoor tabletop pond that makes a great gift. All this to say that I did put up my tree but haven’t added the ornaments yet – that will happen tomorrow.

What Type of Christmas Porch Decorator Are You?
All the Christmas hype arrived way too early this year. Of course, I saw Halloween decorations up in August. Why is everything being pushed on us, everywhere I look, so far in advance? And it seems like we skipped Veterans Day and Thanksgiving.
Maybe it is just me (I don’t think so from people I talk to) but all this is a total turn off and I just don’t read or look at the Christmas blogs, magazines, advertisements etc. at all anymore.
Pretty ideas and never really noticed how they coordinate.
Its never too early to dream and plan a beautiful Christmas mantle. Especially when things sell out in a heartbeat. Thanks for the nudge, Jennifer.
