Unique Modern Farmhouse Tour That’s Warm and Inviting
Today’s modern farmhouse by Patrick Sutton is unique and filled with wonderful details. Antiques pair with unique architecture to create a comfortable and inviting home that I think most people will find quite appealing.
Enter the home to be greeted by an antique pitchfork and aged armoire. Warm wood floors add warmth to painted bead board walls and ceilings, complete with beams and recessed lighting.
The living room fireplace mantel is unique in and of itself, and enjoys a bit of creativity with an anvil and hammer. It’s almost as though a blacksmith is ready to do some work over the fire. Small pops of color accentuate the otherwise neutral open living floor plan.
Slip covered furniture and accents of blue create a beach style vibe in this corner of the living room.
White bead board cabinets team up with light gray subway tile to create a pretty kitchen. A round wood table lends texture and a bit of country styling.
I love the look of natural wood with the color white. I feel it’s a look that will never go out of style.
The master bedroom enjoys a lofty vaulted ceiling painted in gray, with a suspended wood boat. A pair of oars decorate the space above the bed.
The bedroom has a cozy seating area with a wall of French doors to enjoy the views outside.
A traditional 4-poster bed takes center stage in the guest bedroom while a Dutch Boy paint display serves as a unique nightstand.
Natural wood appears with white once again in the farmhouse bathroom.
The home enjoys a dock with a waterfront view. Let the sea breezes blow!

You showed us another wonderful and inspiring house. I love how comfortable the house made me feel.
Beautiful lake home! I don’t know how peacefully I would sleep with a boat hanging from the ceiling! ha ha
Seriously, the primitives and wooden pieces did create a warm and comfortable flow of design in this home. I love how patriotic so many vacation homes are! Thanks for a beautiful and inspiring tour, Jennifer.
This is my favorite, all those wonderful pieces of furniture and personal antiques really made this house a place to cozy up to. I have my great grandfather’s old anvil.i
The mirror and lighting in the bath are soooo right, you seldom see it this way. The little table that is shown, after the kitchen and before the bed room, is a marvel, I love it.
This is an amazing and warm home but I agree that I might be a little anxious about the boat hanging above the bed. I especially love the gray tile with the white cabinets in the kitchen. Thanks for the tour.
The natural wood keeps the white from looking cold and looks very nice together. Wouldn’t mind cooking in that kitchen. A beautiful home overall. Could live without the boat over the bed though.
I just love reading your blogs. Thanks for sharing this Jennifer. The farmhouse looks amazing.
