My Daughter’s June Wedding at Hotel Baker

Uncategorized March 26, 2013

Last June my oldest daughter Stephanie married her beau, Matt. And just this weekend we finally got the digital photo files! We’ve waited so long and I’m thrilled to be able to share them even though it’s months later.  Rather than share all my fave photos at once, I’m dividing them into two blog posts. This first post focuses on the ceremony itself and the second will share favorite moments from the reception. All photos by Jolie Images.

June WeddingStephanie’s wedding took place at Hotel Baker in St. Charles, Illinois.  This is the same hotel where my parents spent their wedding night 65 years ago on the very date of this post, March 26th.

June Wedding PreparationsMy two daughters just before the wedding begins. We had a room on the top floor of the historic hotel to get ready. My daughter Bridget is on the right and was Matron of Honor. She had a country farm wedding in October of 2011.

The Bride and her maidsThe girls are ready to go. Can you tell pink is Stephanie’s favorite color? The flower girl and ring bearer are my grandchildren, and their mother is the bride. Long story for another day.

Here Comes the BrideI had the great pleasure of walking my daughter down the aisle. Another long story for another day. Her dress is the first one she tried on, but we kept looking so we could thoroughly enjoy the dress shopping experience. No other dress measured up to this one.

June wedding at the Hotel BakerWhew! We made it down the stairs without falling! Her shoes were high, glitter pink stilletos.

June Wedding at Hotel BakerThat’s my hubby on the left holding Zoe the flower girl.

Wedding VowsWe were blessed with plenty of sunshine. My daughter Bridget also had an outdoor wedding with great weather.

June Wedding CeremonyA beautiful backdrop provided the perfect scene for Stephanie and Matt’s wedding.

Stephanie and MattI can’t remember what the joke was but a little levity is always good during a wedding.

The Bridesmaids wore PinkThe bridesmaids wore floor length gowns of light pink silk.

The groomsmenThe groomsmen wore black tuxedos and light pink ties.

Bledsoe-Henneken WeddingThe wedding party … don’t the guys look cool in their shades? Reception photos will be posted soon. The flowers were amazing!

Oh my what a beautiful wedding. I have stayed many times at the Baker Hotel on the River and it is so gorgeous and vintage on the inside. It does look like you had a gorgeous day for the ceremony. I love your daughter’s dress so beautiful. Love all the ruffles at the bottom. You look so beautiful too. Love the pink. Looks like a great day. Congrats.

Aww how pretty! What a beautiful setting and perfect weather. You and your daughter look lovely. I know recently I’ve been going back and looking at the wedding pictures of my daughter’s that took place last July. I find I get more choked up now than at the time. It seems surreal at the time doesn’t it?

Your daughter looks gorgeous and I love her dress! I did not know you are in Illinois?!? I’m about half an hour east down north avenue from Hotel Baker. My father in law is in St. Charles so we are out in that area every so often. During the summer I like to ride the train west with my sons and walk around Geneva and have lunch. I just love coming out that way,

I also love that your daughter married at the same spot as her grandparents!!!
