Sage Green Cabinets, a Mountain Cabin + More: Friday Finds

Are you living in a part of the country that’s currently experiencing a snowstorm? We’re supposed to get blizzard conditions today so I might be holed up at home this weekend baking and painting. Sounds like a fun combination, doesn’t it? Or maybe I’ll take a day and binge on English movies. That sounds like more fun. But enough of winter storms, let’s get on with this week’s treasures!

First up is a collection of kitchens with sage green cabinets – one of them is from IKEA. The article is super helpful in giving info and tips for choosing the correct shade of sage green for your kitchen. But the tips can easily applied to choosing this beautiful paint color for any room in the house. Now I’m thinking about sage green for our family room!

Do you love vintage style? You don’t want to miss this 1950s mountain cabin that got a refreshing makeover. I love the color and furniture choices. It’s kind of unexpected for a cabin in the woods.

Winter is a great time to think about planning new garden spaces or updating the exterior of your home. Check out this roundup of ideas for boosting your home’s curb appeal. I’m loving all the suggested color combinations. Tell me what you think of the rainbow house!

I’m absolutely smitten with this down-filled loveseat that I just ordered for the living room (I got it on sale!). Unfortunately I have to wait 8 weeks for it to arrive, but it’ll be worth it. I’m going to load it up with these adorable pillows from Green Row. Now I just need to find an accent chair and that room will pretty much be done.

Winter is a perfect time for comfort food and I love these cute muffin tin chicken pot pies! You can simplify the recipe by using Pillsbury pie crust instead of making the dough from scratch. I’ll make a vegetarian version and swap the chicken broth for vegetable broth, and eliminate the chicken, of course.

Our next holiday is Valentine’s Day, so if you’re feeling crafty, try making my paper heart garland. I promise – it’s super easy! You don’t need to be artistic to make your own.

Stay safe out there this January weekend and find something productive, despite what the weather might be doing in your neck of the woods!

  1. That punchy pink door is everything. I love color on a house and think it says Happy to everyone that see’s it. I really like the love seat I can’t wait to see which color you got, looks comfy.

  2. That cabin was so cute and unless that rainbow house was a daycare, no it’s awful. I love houses that are neutral but have a colorful front door. Good choice for the loveseat, can’t wait to see it. I love chicken pot pies.

  3. The love seat looks comfy, good choice Jennifer. I spent a while pouring over the sage green kitchens as a big fan of that colour. It is a good article. My weekend will be inside with the air con on as it is unbearably hot, humid and raining like there is no tomorrow.
