Sensational Valentine Inspiration to Help You Celebrate
Enjoy a few last-minute easy ideas to help celebrate Cupid’s big day. This collection of Valentine inspiration is low-fuss and easy on the budget. Even if you don’t have a special love interest, you can give yourself some love with my favorite ways to enjoy Valentine’s Day.
One of my favorite Valentine projects includes these pretty paper mache heart boxes decorated with simple craft paper, buttons, ribbons, and floral appliques. All of the items can be found at your local craft store (check Dollar Tree, too). It’s such a fun project. The DIY heart boxes can be used for decoration, or fill them with small chocolates or jewelry and give them as a gift.
Set a sweet table as Valentine inspiration for a special meal. I use a lot of carnations and just a few roses since roses are expensive this time of year. Use budget-friendly ribbon to decorate a vase and to use as makeshift napkin rings.
For a holiday vignette, hang small paper hearts on a bare branch and group with red, white, or pink candles in small bowls that you already have on hand. Make your own hearts with some of the same craft items you use for the DIY heart boxes above.
An inexpensive alternative to roses are primroses which are typically available at garden centers or grocery stores this time of year. I placed a pair of pink ones in a vintage white basket.
Another favorite Valentine inspiration of mine are these whimsical DIY Valentine cards that I made from readily available craft items. One of my favorite holidays during grade school was Valentine’s Day. We’d decorate our own shoeboxes and then place our cards to our classmates in the shoeboxes. It was fun opening all those cards with their cute sayings.
My hubby bought me this amazing azalea topiary years ago for Cupid’s holiday. I placed it in an enamel soup pot to display. I need to find another one of these amazing azaleas. The flowers lasted a long time.
If you can’t find an azalea topiary, pick up a few spring-flowering branches from your garden center and display them in your favorite vintage vase.
Set a festive table with pink and white dishes that are abundantly available this time of year. I found mine at HomeGoods but check other discount stores like Target and Walmart. I chose a floral theme so I could use the dishes any time of year.
If decorating for Valentine’s Day isn’t your thing, make heart-shaped sugar cookies to nibble on. This sugar cookie recipe is light and delicate.
And finally, a serving of Strawberry Julius is sure to brighten your day. This drink is refreshing and makes a great pick-me-up any time of day.
I hope today’s collection of Valentine inspiration has inspired you for the holiday, which is just two more days away! If you don’t have a love interest, pamper yourself with fresh flowers or a sweet treat!
Thank you for sharing such sweet Valentine ideas! I always enjoy your blog. I would like to start introducing some blue decor into my basic neutral home with creams, tans, green. Would you have any suggestions as to how to start incorporating touches of blue? Thanks.
