Discover Valentine’s Day Ideas to Make Your Holiday Sparkle

Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? I’ve always loved Cupid’s holiday ever since I was a kid. I loved making Valentine boxes at school before the holiday party. And then handing out Valentine’s to everyone in the class, stuffing them into our decorated shoe boxes. Fast forward to now, and I still enjoy the holiday because it’s the one day I know hubby will get me chocolates and flowers. Since I’m in a nostalgic mood, I thought I’d share past Valentine’s Day ideas that I’ve shared here on the blog. Some of them are from several years ago!

Let’s start with my favorite Valentine table setting that incorporates pink and white tulips and shades of gray.

Next up, I loved making these sweet little heart boxes. They’re plain, paper mache boxes from the craft store that I decorated with lacy trim and printed papers.

This felt heart banner is one of my earliest Valentine’s Day idea projects. It’s super easy to make. I went through a banner and garland and made several different styles throughout the year.

I also went through a cigar box phase where I’d turn $1.50 cigar boxes into something pretty and useful. I decorated the boxes with lace and paper and used them to put chocolates and cookies inside to give as Valentine gifts.

Another one of my top favorites are these charming homemade Valentine cards that I made with various things found at the craft store. These were a lot of fun and I displayed them as a banner, but the cards have matching envelopes to be shared with others.

It’s not a holiday without chocolate, so how about some favorite recipes as Valentine’s Day ideas? Serve your sweetie this chocolate chip skillet cookie. Or make it for yourself if you don’t have a sweetie!

I made these individual chocolate soufflés with crème anglaise for Christmas, but they’re just as appropriate for Cupid’s special day. They’re easier than they might look.

How about a decadent dark chocolate raspberry cake? Yum!

We started with a romantic table setting as the first Valentine’s Day idea, so let’s end with this pink and white setting. I found the delightful pink flower bowls and plates at Home Goods. They’re perfect for celebrating the holiday of love
