Featuring: The Dedicated House

Have you met Kathryn from The Dedicated House? She’s my Button Swap partner for the month of September, which is a fun get-together for bloggers to hook up. The button swap is hosted by Ethereal Plus What I Love. The idea is to get to know your button swap partner and give ’em some blog love. So without further adieu, let’s take a tour of Kathryn’s home! (All photos are from Kathryn’s blog, The Dedicated House.) NOTE: If you’re going to pin photos, please go to Kathryn’s blog and pin them from there! Thank you!!

Kathryn painted her kitchen cabinets and it really brightened things up!
Kathryn’s dining room got a makeover, too. Do you notice the blue theme in her home?
I happen to love blue, too, especially when paired with white.
Check out these stars. They used to be metal but Kathryn painted them to match her kitchen.
These festive stars took up residence on the top of her refrigerator. So cute!
Kathryn and I share a love of taking Goodwill finds and making them over.
Here, Kathryn’s thrifty find gets a coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White.
A mix of clear and dark wax provides just the right touch of aging. Beautiful!
And then there’s this creamy piece of yumminess from Ballard Designs.
Kathryn arranged a pretty vignette on top.
Before you go thinking the entire house is blue and white, here’s a peek into daughter Chloe’s room.
What an adorable bedspread covered in colorful little tea pots!
What little girl wouldn’t love this room?
Ah, but back to the blue now!
Here’s a charming blue outdoor swing to hint at what you’ll find inside Kathryn’s home.

I found out Kathryn was a professional opera singer! You can read more about her on her blog.
If you haven’t partied with Kathryn yet, visit her blog on Mondays for Make it Pretty Mondays.
Thanks Kathryn, for the use of your photos and for sharing your beautiful home!

  1. Aw, you make me blush! Thank you for taking the time to make me pretty on your blog! I’m so happy I got to get a glimpse into your lovely world. Who knows. You may have just inspired me to take up running. It’s a thought that might actually make it to my legs! Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse

  2. Love blue and white! I’m not in the Fox Valley runners club. I just run for fun, usually by myself, along the river. I also run at Delnor and take other classes there. I’m typically a 4-6 mile person…not too fast. 🙂 I hope to make it to another IL blogger meeting!
