Two Home Tours, Wallpaper + More: Friday Finds

Today I’m in Galena with the entire family. I’m surprised all four of our families fit in one house. I love the time together and truly appreciate we’re all able to get away just before Christmas to celebrate the holidays in a peaceful way. Although with eight grandchildren, it sometimes gets chaotic. I love it though!

Christmas Tree in Bronze and Copper

Let’s start today’s Friday Finds with my recent love affair with wallpaper. Coco Lapine Design shares wallpaper ideas for entryways and each one is welcoming and pretty.

Check out this darling mudroom and laundry area that includes skirted storage and a beautiful paint color from Farrow and Ball.

You don’t want to miss the charming makeover that this 1950s mountain cabin got. Each room is unique and so quaint!

Winter is officially soup season and who doesn’t love homemade soup? Try this sweet potato chowder for a soup version of good old comfort food.

I’m not really a fan of faux candles but I do like these LED spiral tapers that are only $10 for a pack of four!

Saving the best for last – check out Haneen’s gorgeous holiday home tour! I had to scroll through it a few times to take it all in.

Enjoy your weekend – Christmas is right around the corner!

    1. Hi Sam!

There are several historic Bed and Breakfasts in town that are nice. There’s also the historic DeSoto Hotel. If you like something a little more secluded, the Galena Territory has a lot of rental units. I’ve stayed in-town and in the territory. If you want everything within walking distance, stay in town. But the Territory has amenities like a community pool. It just depends on what you’re interested in. Here’s link that covers lodging in Galena: https://www.visitgalena.org/places-to-stay/

  1. The holiday home and laundry room redo was refreshing. In the holiday home the cloche with small houses was so cute and extending the bigger houses throughout is something I hadn’t seen. Thank you 9 days to Christmas,,,,

  2. So many great ideas and fun things to look at. I loved all the wallpaper and tours. Pray you and your family had a wonderful time together and a very Merry Christmas.

  3. Hope you are having a wonderful time with your family.
Your posts are always great. But… any ideas for older singles living alone? In small (1500 sq ft and under) old homes in chillier climates? Or maybe some ideas about other blogs that might meet my needs?

  4. Hi haven’t been receiving emails from you. I miss you. I hope everything is well. I signed up again with the hopes that I would get your blog but I haven’t. I hope you and your family have a very happy holiday season and Happy New Year
