Amazing Home Tours, Kitchen Details, and More: Friday Finds

Are you feeling a bit of lightness in your step now that spring has arrived and the days are longer? There’s a lot going on in our world right now and it’s easy to become discouraged and/or anxious. Now’s the time to focus on the simple pleasures of life like a pretty sunrise or the fresh new bloom of a crocus or daffodil in the garden. The robins have returned to our area and the koi in my pond are swimming around again. I was especially happy to see that my four baby koi that were conceived in the pond last summer are still alive, having survived the winter season. They’re about four inches long now and each one is a different color! I’ll get a photo soon – they like to school together. This week I also found some great ideas and inspiration for you. Keep scrolling to see what’s in store!

Let’s start with a farmhouse renovation in Tennessee. This home was in pretty bad shape with musty old mattresses on the front porch and trash all over the living room floor in front of the fireplace. But a creative eye and lots of elbow grease turned a run-down dwelling into a dream home!

English kitchens are some of my favorite cooking spaces for good reason. They’re functional while maintaining British charm. House Beautiful shares design features you’ll see in UK kitchens – and I have to admit, I wasn’t surprised that skylights made the list. Our Airbnb during our trip to Windsor had kitchen skylights which really helped brighten the space on cloudy days.

Do you have pansies in your garden? They love cooler weather and are a great garden choice for both spring and fall. See how to arrange these pretty blooms into cheerful arrangements. And while you’re at it, check out the Pansy book that will educate you about these dainty flowers with painted faces.

If you’re a fan of neutral walls, you don’t want to miss this lineup of soft, neutral paint colors for your next decorating project. I’m crushing on Leather which might sound brown, but it’s a beautiful off-white that appears to have slightly pink undertones. Soft and elegant, it’d look great in any room. Check out the colors and see which one you prefer.

Finally, we’ll end today’s inspiration with an beautiful tour of a historic home in Utah. It’s decorated with a fresh brush of spring throughout the rooms – and even the outdoor spaces are wonderfully decorated. You don’t want to miss this charmer!

I hope you have a wonderful Easter if you celebrate this special holiday. Hopefully the weather in your area cooperates to give you a sunny, uplifting day!
