Vintage Style Christmas Vignette
Why does Christmas feel so magical when you get out the decorations and turn your house into some “other world” filled with sparkle and charm? Christmas allows you to bring a little fantasy in your home, and the mood I like to create is a vintage style Christmas that evokes holidays gone past.
A vintage style Santa wears neutral colors instead of red and green.
A bottle brush type wreath serves as a backdrop for my vintage style Christmas vignette.
An angelic snowman with rosy cheeks is charming and sweet.
I love this type of Christmas figurine.
A glittery star and vintage glass ornaments await their day to trim the tree.
Which will be sooner rather than later this year.
Normally I put the tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving.
But this year the tree will be up and glowing for my family’s Thanksgiving dinner.
I’m on the hunt for more of these figurines … with a reasonable price tag.
A cloche ornament holds a glittery putz house.
I wish I had the patience to make some of these little houses. They’re so pretty.
Sigh. My favorite. Vintage glass ornaments. I think I have a bit of an addiction to these.
I’m anxious to get all the decorations up in case you couldn’t tell.
I’m also anxious to reveal the winner of the Creatively Christmas book giveaway!
If you didn’t win, don’t despair. I’ve decided to give away a second book!
I had such a great response to the give away I’ll be doing it again soon.
Today’s winner of an autographed copy of Creatively Christmas is …
Becky Weber!! Congratulations Becky, I sent you an email to let you know.
For those of you who tried ordering the book earlier, it’s now in stock so don’t delay!
You can purchase the book on Amazon:
You can decorate my house anytime! Just lovely!
Aw, thanks Barb. I love decorating for Christmas. 🙂
Cute vintage vignette, Jennifer. Congratulations to Becky – lucky reader!
Thanks, Rita. I’m giving away another book soon!
Jennifer,
I just ordered the book…. cant wait!! For the past several years, I have used more neutral and non-traditional colors such as aqua in my Christmas décor. This year I found the cutest lumbar pillows from Pottery Barn (Colin plaid) that has red, white, black, grey and green in the material so I will be switching things up using more of these colors in my décor.
The pillows sound pretty, Teresa! I love seeing aqua used for Christmas. I think it looks great with red!
love your vintage christmas decorations! i keep it neutral in my house as well. whites, creams, silver & gold. of course some green but very little red. can’t wait to see how you decorate for the holidays! mj
Thanks Maryjo! I’m actually thinking of adding in some red this year. I don’t know … it will depend on what kind of mood I’m in. 😉
Great vintage pieces and congrats to Becky

Congrats to Becky! Love your decorations, Jennifer! I love this style, too. I am thinking about getting a couple of those Putz houses; the question is will they already be done up or do I try to do a couple myself. : )
Love the neutral decor you chose for your vignette. Very inspiring!
Love your vintage Christmas. So pretty. I cannot wait to see your home done up in all the pretty Christmas decor.
Congrats to Becky. She will love Jennifer’s book.

Just darling – those snowman would melt anyone!
Just went and ordered my copy, said they were out of stock. 🙁 At least it will be a wonderful treat/surprise in my mailbox when it does come!
Even though Amazon is saying the book is out of stock, you should still have it by Thanksgiving. I got that information straight from the author who says they just ordered a reprint of the book because it sold so quickly.
