A Remarkable Maine Cottage, Small Spaces, and More: Friday Finds
Not only is it Friday, but it’s Labor Day weekend which means a little extra me-time to enjoy doing whatever. My weekend will be uneventful, which makes me happy. I love having a weekend with no plans so I’m free to just putz around the house and garden, get a little cleaning or organizing done, and spend some time with my nose in a good book. Right now, that book happens to be The Island by Elin Hilderbrand. I have a big stack of books to read that I picked up at the library’s book sale. It’s a mix of topics – what type of books do you like to read?

This week I found some fun inspiration for you – and the first one is my favorite in today’s lineup!
Get ready to fall in love with this cozy Maine cottage! I don’t know why, but some of my favorite homes are located in Maine, and this one doesn’t disappoint. The wallpaper in the dining room is so dreamy!
Do you have a small room or maybe an awkward space in your home? House and Garden gives three great examples on turning a useless corner or wall into a pretty and functional idea. I especially love the attic bedroom that was miraculously turned into an ensuite!
Need a quick and easy fall wreath? See how to make a pretty corn husk wreath. Not only is it simple, but it’s economical, too!
Apparently, the color blue is trending this fall. See how to make this calming shade feel cozy for the cooler days ahead.
If you’re like me and never tire of gardening (we just planted new Rose of Sharon bushes in the side yard), check out some of my favorite late summer flowers you can plant now and enjoy into the fall season ahead! You’ll appreciate the shot of color these give your landscape spaces.
Before you go, if you haven’t entered yet for a chance to win Fifi O’Neill’s book, Shades of White: Serene Spaces for Effortless Living, be sure to visit my blog post from earlier this week. You can peek inside its pages, then add a comment to be entered to win.
Enjoy your holiday weekend!!

The Maine cottage was a great tour and enjoyed. I just painted my lower kitchen cabinets blue and I love them. Enjoyed this Friday Finds and all you do to make them possible, thanks.
