Friday Finds #12: Weekend Projects and Inspiration

Before I get started with today’s collection of weekly Friday Finds, I want to thank all of you for visiting my blog and leaving comments. Lately many of you have expressed how much you enjoy this blog and it warms my heart immensely! If I can brighten someone’s day – even just a little bit – it makes me happy. So thank you for visiting!! And now, on to this week.

Orange and Yellow Gerbera Daisies on a Picket Fence

The week was fairly uneventful for me, although I did get a chance to pull more garlic from the garden and I made my first batch of peach preserves! I’ll share the recipe and process next week. It was super easy, although a bit time-consuming.

Tomorrow I’m finally sharing some indoor shots of my sitting room – specifically the mantel. I haven’t taken interior photos of my house for quite a while now. I’ve been too busy outside in the gardens. But I did sign up for a fall home tour in September so that will be coming soon, too.

Sadly, I heard a few more colleges sent students home after virus outbreaks on campus. I feel badly for students who aren’t getting to truly experience college by living in a dorm and joining all the extra-curricular activities.

My grandson started his first week of high school this past Monday and right now, it’s all online. He’s on the football team but games have been postponed until spring. I’ll really miss fall football season and watching him play. I feel like he’s missing out on so much already. But at least he’s healthy and safe. Do you have kids or grandkids that are missing their friends at school?

Each week it’s such a delight finding inspirational stuff to share with you each Friday. This new series is making me explore more on the internet so it’s been fun for me – I hope you enjoy it too!

This Week’s Friday Finds …

I’ve featured Courtney’s beautiful work before, but she stopped me in my scroll with her recent cottage living room makeover. She went from white to dark and it’s just stunning!

Have you ever made zucchini bread – with chocolate chips? Paula Deen shares her scrumptious chocolate chip zucchini bread that I’m dying to make this weekend! I thought you might like it, too.

Although a lot of fairs and events are cancelled due to the virus, a few Midwestern locations have gotten creative with special events that allow you to social distance while enjoying the festivities.

If you’ve got lots of family pics that you don’t know what to do with, check out Emily Henderson’s tips on how to display family photos. This is great weekend project!

Another great weekend project is this collection of budget-friendly organizing ideas for your kitchen. I’m definitely getting that tiered shelf! I think it’s genius.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and a stress-free week ahead. Enjoy the rest of summer while it lasts!
