Beautiful Small Spaces, Yummy Apple Cake + More: Friday Finds
This weekend launches the first of fall fests in our area. It’s Festival of the Vine in Geneva and hubby and I go every year with my son and his family. You can sample wine and small bites from local restaurants. There are fun things for kids too so it’s a great family gathering. And then on Sunday I’m playing airsoft with my grandson! I’ve done it once before and had a lot of fun. I’m pretty sure I was the oldest female on the field. It’s a fun form of outdoor exercise and it gives me opportunity to spend more time with Aiden. He’s a teenager so there’s not a lot of opportunity for bonding. But enough of my weekend plans (what are you doing?), let’s move on to this week’s Friday Finds!

You might not believe me when I tell you that a family of six lives in a 840-square-foot home, but it’s true! Explore this charming small home that’s beautifully and efficiently decorated.
Everyone loves an amazing kitchen renovation and this one by Daniel Kantor is a doozy that includes some great before and after pictures. Wow! This is one of the best kitchen makeovers I’ve seen in a while; the room was in pretty rough shape. It comes complete with a source list.

It’s officially apple picking season in my neck of the woods so I have to include an apple recipe and this one is super yummy. Whip up an Irish Apple Cake with Custard Sauce this weekend to make good use of those apples!
Who lives in the Midwest? Midwest Living magazine recently compiled a list of the best state parks for viewing fall colors. I’ve been to four of the parks on their list and they’re all beautiful any time of the year. Hocking Hills in Ohio is on my bucket list – let me know if you’ve been there!
Let’s end with an absolutely gorgeous and inviting home tour by Bria Hammel Interiors. Lots of large photos (before and after) and sources are provided at the end of the tour in case you see something you have to have.
