An Amazing Bungalow Kitchen That Blends Wood with Soft Green Cabinets
Green is a trending color in every room of the house, but I especially love the way it looks in the kitchen. Today’s bungalow kitchen by Design Directions in Oklahoma uses a dark sage green on the cabinets paired with both light and dark wood tones to complete a beautiful restoration project.
White counter tops and a glossy back splash add a bit of contemporary appeal to this historic home’s kitchen. A light-stained wooden vent hood lend and wooden floors lend a bit of warmth to the space.
Use of a wooden island incorporates richness in the kitchen while a red brick chimney is left exposed for texture. Note the wonderful Dutch door on the far wall.
There’s even a porthole for the family cat in the Dutch door to come and go as he pleases. Floating wood shelves mimic the lighter shade of the vent hood while the door picks up the darker stain found in the flooring.
Step back for a more expansive view of the bungalow kitchen. A light wood table features black metal chairs in the area that separates the kitchen from the home’s living room.
During the renovation, walls were removed so that the kitchen, dining, and living spaces became open to one another.
The first floor of this Oklahoma home is now more open, light, and bright.
The designer didn’t specify the color of the kitchen cabinets, but the shade looks very similar to Scenic Drive by Benjamin Moore. I’m in the process of painting my family room this color and so far I’m loving it.
