Bridget Trashes the Wedding Dress

Have you heard of Trash the Dress? Apparently this is a new phenom where brides have a photo shoot of mucking up their wedding dress … after the wedding of course. My daughter Bridget trashed her dress in the city of Chicago last year after her October country wedding. (She didn’t really trash her dress like some girls do. Her gown is still intact!)

These photos are from her photo session with Jordan Quinn Lukianuk of Jordan Quinn Photography. I never tire of looking at these photos, and right now, they put me get in the bridal mood as we look forward to my daughter Stephanie’s wedding this Saturday, June 9th at a local, historic hotel. And so, without further ado … here’s Bridget’s Trash the Dress session.

Love you, Bridget!

Special thanks to Jordan Quinn for her amazing photography!
Stay tuned for photos of Stephanie’s wedding.

  1. A very interesting thing to do. I saw a commercial where the bride and groom jump off a pier and into a lake/ocean or something. It’s a cute commercial – and I guess a cute idea for the brides.

I love the photo of your daughter standing on the railroad tracks and smiling. She has a wonderful smile!

  2. I have never heard of this, but it sure makes for some amazing photos!
Wishing you a beautiful day on Saturday for wedding #2!

  3. So nice to meet you. I can see why you would never tire of these pictures. What an idea! Never heard of it but I love the way your beautiful daughter did hers.
Looking forward to being the newest of many followers.
I too joined the Wedding Blog Party again this year.
    Have a wonderful weekend

  4. Such awesome shots of your lovely daughter! Her dress is just spectacular and I’m so glad it wasn’t an EXTREME trash your dress! I have seen pics of girls that roll in mud or jump into rivers wearing them! My favorite shots are the one on the concrete stairs and I’m especially loving the one with her arm touching the tree above her head. Just beautiful! Can’t wait to see and hear all about Stephanie’s wedding, too! Thanks sooo much for sharing at the Wedding Party today!

    Big TX Hugs,
    Stephanie

  5. The title of your post caught my attention. It made me think of my Mother. She “trashed” her dress back in 1954…boy I think she was ahead of her time!!! She got mad at my Dad not long after they were first married and tore it up. Now that is some passion huh!!! lol They were married 42 years until my Dad passed away in 1997. I encouraged her long ago if she wanted to date or remarry to do it. She still had “her” life to live. She dated one man for a very short time and told me she was done. There was no other man like my Father and she didn’t want anyone else…lol

The pictures of your Daughter are amazing. I love this new trend. Congratulations to your other Daughter getting married today. How fun. Can’t wait to see those “Trash the Dress” session pictures!

  6. Our daughter did a “Trash the Dress” session after her wedding too. Her and her husband Kyle, who is a dairy farmer, did a country picnic in a field of cows with his vintage Farmall tractor. They also did a session laying in the hay loft of the barn and the sunlight coming through the barn boards was breathtaking. I honestly love those pictures more than the church/reception hall because they were relaxed and natural.

  7. I’ve never heard of this before but it sounds like a very cute concept! A lot more laid back than the ordinary bride pictures:) Love the cowboy boots with the dress! Congrats on your daughter’s marriage!

  8. Your daughter is beautiful! I love the picture by the water. I’d love to have a picture of my and my fiance all fancy in our field with our cows but the heifer likes to suck on my clothing and that’s not quite the look I’m going for!

  9. I love cowboy boots and wedding dresses!! I don’t think I could bear to tear up my dress after spending months trying on everyone for miles. But then I understand that they want a pic to show that they can now relax and enjoy the moment. Your daughter is beautiful and congrats on the new SIL.

  11. Why the hell not lets trash it its only a dress afterall (obviously Iv never been married so not yet the sentimental type!)
Great photos especially the boots they add a bit of funk 🙂

  12. I’ve never heard of that and I thought it was like getting food all over it or something! LOL! I’m so out of touch down here!LOL! I love the photos thought….that’s much nicer than what I had pictured in my mind! Ha! Ha!
