This rusty bucket has been hanging around my front porch forever. I can’t remember where exactly I got this, but I’m pretty sure I either picked it off a garbage pile fore free or grabbed it at a garage sale for just a buck or two. Anywho … it’s time this bucket started earning its keep so it got a scrubbing and a makeover.
Here’s what she looks like today after getting cleaned up.
I left some of the rust on it to give it texture under the paint.
Here she is in her pre-makeover glory.
I used a mix of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old Ochre and Pure White.
Then I gave it a whitewash, wiping some of the excess off.
This close-up shows the rusty texture behind the Paris graphic.
And here she is in the bathroom, next to my newly painted claw foot tub.
Yep, I finally painted the tub! Makin’ a few changes in the bathroom.
Stay tuned for the edits, which were based on your feedback! 🙂
Pretty makeover!

The old bucket looks wonderful Frenchified!
I love your new bucket. I can’t even fathom how you make the graphic transfers using modgepodge. I am def gonna try to do it very soon myself but I doubt if I’ll have the “touch” to get it right! Can’t wait to see your bathroom tub Have a great week!!
Love your Frenchified bucket. Mod Podge, a bucket, and The Graphics Fairy is always a winning combination. Haven’t tried your method yet, but it sure looks nice!
Beautiful!
How cute, turned out great!
Love it. Can not wait to see the tub. great makeover to your thrifty find! Thanks for sharing, liz
It looks lovely. I love what you did with it. x
You’ve reallly mastered the transfer technique. It looks like you painted the design on that bucket.
I can’t wait to see your transformed tub!
Love what you did and love the bucket for sure. (I even loved it before you transformed it!)
The old bucket looks wonderful Frenchified! I like your buckets so nice.

You always have awesome stuff! Love the pretty, fresh coat of white with your design technique. I’m hoping to find some galvanized buckets/containers at my next flea market hunt. Have a great week!

BRING ON THE TUB!!!! 🙂
I love this bucket. Right up my alley. I have some French flower buckets I have to work on but I am doing another project first.

so very cute, jennifer–what a change!
Hey Jennifer, awesome job! I love the texture that shows through the paint. And to think, this is the type of thing we used to look at and shutter; love the magic of chalk paint! : ) I hope you’ll have time to share it at Frugal Treasures Tuesday! Have a great week.

The bucket looks wonderful! I’m going to have to try that Mod-Podge treatment! Linda
Wow! I turned out great! I’ve never tried mod podge on anything yet. Well we used to use it in the 70’s when we did “decoupaged” things….but I haven’t done anything with it since!
I’ll have to read up on it!
I love your dressed up bucket! I really need to try one of those cute graphics too! I can’t wait to see how your tub and bathroom turned out. The sneak peek looks great!
This is right up my street! I love it! I must try transferring with modge podge, thanks for sharing 🙂

Beautiful transformation, Jennifer! Somehow I can always pick out your photos in the linky parties. lol! Wasn’t it fun painting that tub? I did the exterior of mine a couple years ago, and it made such a huge difference in the room. 🙂 Have a great weekend, sweetie!

That’s a really gorgeous shaped bucket Jennifer and she looks divine with her French make-over. Thanks for linking up at Shabbilicious Friday.
This is so pretty, and I love it paired with burlap. It’s perfect with your claw foot tub.
