Celebrating 4th of July with Gloria Ferrer
Celebrating 4th of July means one thing … parties! Parties that celebrate our country’s independence. Parties that celebrate family and friends. And when you have a party, you gotta have food and beverages to enhance the celebration. We’re celebrating 4th of July with Gloria Ferrer wine at a friend’s house.
This 4th of July is special for our family because we’re not only celebrating the holiday, but we’re also celebrating 2 very important milestones. My middle daughter is pregnant with her first child, who’s due in November. And my son just got engaged to his girlfriend of 5 years!
On 4th of July we’re headed to my son’s fiancee’s parents’ home. We’ve become friends with them over the years, which makes for a great situation when planning the upcoming wedding. Saturday is a combination engagement/4th of July party.
I’m taking a couple bottles of Gloria Ferrer wine with me, along with some cheese and fruit to snack on.
Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards is Carneros’ original sparkling wine house, owned and founded by the Ferrer family of Spain. Named for José Ferrer’s wife, Gloria, the winery opened in 1986 in the breezy, now-famous region in southernmost Sonoma County. Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards was the fulfillment of a longtime family dream: to make world-class méthode champenoise sparkling wines in an exceptional New World terroir.
Perfect for an engagement and holiday celebration!
Such a beautiful vineyard where the wine grapes are cultivated, this is the view from the winery’s terrace. Gloria Ferrer was among the first wineries in California to implement the Code of Sustainable Winegrowing Practices (a joint effort of the California Wine Institute and the California Association of Winegrape Growers).
I love this bottle of Carneros Pinot Noir. The nose has black cherry cedar and spice. The black cherry continues into the mouth with blackberry, pinot spice and some bramble. Substantial but smooth mouth feel with some light sweet toasty oak. It has a long finish of cherry and spice.
The Blanc de Noirs has bright strawberry and black cherry aromas with subtle vanilla highlights. Creamy cherry, lemon and cola flavors combine with a lush palate, lively bubbles and a persistent finish. Gloria Ferrer has over 400 gold medals and fifty 90+ point ratings in the last 5 years.
So on this very special 4th of July, we’ll be celebrating our country’s independence, my daughter’s pregnancy, and my son’s engagement with friends, family, good food, and some very special Gloria Ferrer wine!
Gloria Ferrer is hosting a “Be Glorious” photo contest that you can enter.
