Charming Home Tour ~ Santa Ynez Cottage

Charming Home Series, cottage style, home tour March 15, 2015

This coming Friday marks the first day of spring so today I’m bringing you a beautiful cottage style house filled with sunshine and spring colors! This charming home is located in Santa Ynez (Saint Agnes) California, just north of Los Angeles. I found this light-filled beauty on Houzz.

The first thing that caught my eye about this charming home is the amazing wall of windows with the fabulous views outside.

Then my eye was drawn immediately to all the soft colors and gorgeous textiles. Do you see how the quilt is draped over 3/4 of the sofa with patterned pillows layered on top? I like that look and will now be on the hunt for a similar quilt. I also like the fabric that’s laid on top of the wheeled shelving unit.

Isn’t this crafting space charming? Such a beautiful chair covered with cottage chic upholstery. This space is inspiring me to create a larger crafting area in my home that’s as pretty as this one!

The office space is a bit more modern with its white desk on wheels.

This charming home makes excellent use of space throughout.

You can tell this homeowner is resourceful and productive. Here’s yet another space for creating … a stylish sewing room. I love the scissor holder on the wall! I seriously need to get more organized like this.

The kitchen in this charming home is tiny but uber functional! Everything you need to create a gourmet meal is right at hand. Spices are stored on the wall with the knives hanging directly below.  Just above the mixer are the dried goods for baking.

Do you love the square green cabinet knobs as much as I do?

The kitchen dinette chairs are pretty with their floral carving at the top.

In the bedroom, 2 wooden pallets create a makeshift headboard. Why deconstruct them and build something new when they look great propped against the wall as is?

Moving outside, the gorgeous view lies just beyond this charming pergola dripping with intoxicating wisteria. If this were in my yard, I would never leave the hammock. Unless of course it’s to dine al fresco at the simple table.

Another outdoor entertaining area echoes the same fun colors from inside the house. I have a serious case of house crush going on right now! This charming home proves that small space living can be attractive without feeling cramped. I think I’m ready to move to Santa Ynez!

I love Bonnie Christine’s, blogger and owner of Going Home to Roost and Roost Tribe, style. You should see her new home. It’s absolutely gorgeous! So full of nature, color, and beauty. She also designs fabrics for Art Gallery. Her use of color is gorgeous and inspiring. I love her son’s, Bear, woodland nursery. Such a perfect person to showcase spring! I follow both her blog and Instagram account. Every photo she posts tugs on my heart strings. Definitely happy and cheerful!
