Charming Home Tour ~ The Everyday Home

Charming Home Series, home decor, home tour October 18, 2015

Today’s charming home tour is a bit of a trip down memory lane for me. I’m featuring the home of someone near and dear to my heart … one of the first bloggers I “met” even though it was a virtual meeting. But more on that a bit later. Let me start today by showing you the gorgeous southern home of Barb Garrett from The Everyday Home blog.

Southern Style Porch

What’s a southern home without a porch? Barb’s porch is full of color and comfort!  It’s such a sunny, cheery place and reminds me a bit of the fun colors Mary Engelbreit uses in her magazine.

Traditional Style Living RoomStep inside Barb’s home and the cool hues of blue greet you in the living room. I remember the first time I saw Barb’s grain-stripe valances in this room. I loved them then, and still love them today!

Traditional Style Living RoomFrom this side of the living room, you can see Barb’s light-filled entryway.

Farmhouse Style KitchenBarb has a beautiful farmhouse style kitchen off her living room. In case you didn’t know already, Barb is part of our Farmhouse Friday group that shares farmhouse style decorating the 4th Friday of each month.

Farmhouse SinkBarb recently swapped out her copper kitchen for this pretty, white farmhouse sink. I love the Gather sign and industrial light over the sink.

Traditional Style Dining RoomJust off the kitchen is the bright and airy breakfast room.  Barb named her pig on the chalkboard “Cleetus.”

Traditional Style Dining RoomBarb’s painted fireplace takes center stage in the dining room.

Wicker baskets are tucked inside the fireplace with its arched opening.

Pottery Barn Inspired Boy's BedroomThis bedroom used to belong to her son … it’s now a space for Barb’s grandson when he comes to visit.

Traditional Style BathroomNot only is Barb creative, but she’s resourceful too!  She gave her guest bathroom a makeover without spending a lot of money! Notice the attention to architectural detail on the lower half of the wall!

Apple Berry WreathBarb shares a ton of inspiration and projects on her blog, like this Apple Berry Wreath. She was also sharing decorating advice the first time I “met” her. We were both invited to participate in the Christmas edition of That Billy Wilson Show, which is a recurring Google hangout.

You can watch the episode of That Billy Wilson Show where both Barb and I share a few Christmas decorating tips. Even Miriam Illions from Hometalk showed up for the event! Barb’s presentation start around the 9:39 mark, and I share my tips at about the 24:45 mark of the recording. Tibby the Giant Cat makes his appearance, too!

I love your home, especially the front door. I like the way to arrange your furniture and organize your designs. Overall, your home looks so pleasant and cool and I love the way how incorporate nature’s design in it. Thanks for the tour.
