The Classic White House

White houses can be clean and modern, shabby and charming, stately and elegant, or classic and traditional. So here’s a salute to the All-American dream, the pride and joy of a well-loved home. All homes were photographed in Geneva, Illinois, where I spent the first 25 years of my life. Unfortunately, I didn’t grow up in a historic home … but at least I live in one now!

A girl named Bambi used to live in this house.
Growing up, I always wanted to live in Bambi’s house.
I would hang out in that catwalk all day if I lived in Bambi’s house.
Love the trellis crawling up the front of this home, and the little iron gazebo on the left.
This is one of my favorite homes in Geneva, a classic farmhouse.
The front of this house doesn’t face the street – the side with the fireplace faces the street.
A little odd, but still a pretty house.
Cute gate!
And that cute gate comes with a not-so-typical white picket fence.
A beautiful wrought iron fence circling an historic home with floor to ceiling windows on the first level.
A stately, three-story home. Love the matching lamppost!
A classic front porch, complete with swing and patriotic flag.
This house reminds me of something you’d see by a lake.
I think it’s the evergreen trees that make me feel that way.
Hope you enjoyed the tour of white homes!
