Christmas in Connecticut: Home with Beautiful Vintage Decor
Today we’re taking a peek inside a pretty Connecticut home with beautiful vintage Christmas decor. This is a house after my own heart with a simple, historic vibe – nothing stuffy, but still a step back in time. These are the types of homes that have an earthy soul.
This is such a charming home, both inside and out. You know I love a yellow house with a blue door!

A bench made from an old door graces the entryway while a fluffy garland winds its way up the banister.

A gorgeous Christmas tree takes center stage in front of the window. I love when you can see Christmas trees lit up from outside the home.

The living room wears calming neutral tones which enhance the vibe of a white Christmas in this pretty Connecticut home.

On the other side of the living room is the fireplace with its mantel adorned for the holiday season. Candles are placed inside since the fireplace is no longer working. It’s a great solution.

A mix of cozy, off-white stockings hang beneath a line-up of candles and greenery.

Are you a fan of French doors? I love them and they sure look pretty here, separating the living room from the sitting room. Note the wide width of the wood planks on the floor. Gorgeous!

A pair of small Christmas trees adorn a vintage cabinet in the sitting room while a Christmas carol hangs between them. A soft furry pillow lends a bit of texture on the arm chair. Vintage crocks and picture frames line the inset shelves.

A simple Christmas wreath adorns a white vintage armoire and an antique Canada Dry wooden box cradles holiday greens next to an old school fan.

The kitchen is light and bright with white-painted cabinets and wood flooring. Wood floors run throughout the Connecticut home.

The refrigerator is conveniently tucked into its cubby hole with a space for cookbooks above. From this angle you can see that the kitchen is adjacent to the living room.

I love the curved cabinetry to the right of the stove, with another curve revealed in the arched doorway. From here you can see the front door. Through the arched door is the dining area.

A pretty wooden chandelier gives light above a farmhouse table with metal chairs. Greenery and candles create a holiday runner down the center of the table. A beautiful armoire with a fabric front is tucked into the corner for easy storage of dishes.

A close-up view reveals large wood slices acting as chargers. Gold flatware lends a bit of glam. The table is festive without feeling overdone.

From this view, you can see from the dining room into the living room which you saw earlier. I like the simple flow of this vintage farmhouse.

The upstairs bathroom in the Connecticut home makes great use of an old dresser as vanity, and a gorgeous dresser mirror left in its natural wood state. I love wood and white together; it’s such a pleasing contrast.

Creative typography art hangs on the shiplap wall above the black iron bed. A pair of farmhouse sconces provide extra light for reading. Faux fur-lined red pillows on the bed and a miniature evergreen tree on the nightstand add a holiday vibe.

Thank you, Jennifer, for sharing this down to earth and yet lovely home. It is a pleasure to see a home that is lovingly decorated but is still approachable on a family lifestyle and budgetary scale. This house feels like home and gives a real holiday welcome, Iʻm glad you shared it.
Classic charm. Simple but elegant. I’m starting out with an old cottage and this post is perfect inspiration. The Christmas tree tin container caught my eye. I must have and the journey to find similar has commenced. I noticed the post was in 2017..and now in 2025 the style is still relevant. Timeless class… thank you so much for sharing .
