Cozy Kitchens and a Bundt Cake: Friday Finds #72

Here we are in November and in the blink of an eye, Christmas will be at our doorsteps. Funny how this time of year flies by but January and February seem to drag on forever. Sigh. I do love the coziness of this end-of-year season and look forward to the upcoming festivities. This year I’ve vowed to keep holiday stress to a minimum. I’ll report back on how successful that attempt is. I did somehow manage to get out of making Thanksgiving dinner, so I’m off to a good start.

This week’s Friday Finds:

Let’s begin this week’s collection of inspiration with a tour of this amazing, custom kitchen designed by Artichoke. Omigoodness, if I could have a bespoke kitchen like this, I would truly be in heaven. Just stunning!

Next up is a short but beautiful tour of an older home with both wood and painted floors. If you like old and charming, you’ll love this house!

We’re seven weeks away from Christmas so you have plenty of time to make this adorable holiday wreath by Lia Griffith. She’s my favorite crafter and you can find many of her kits at Joann Fabrics. Who knows? You might just see that wreath in my Christmas photos this year!

This week I stumbled across an inspiring Pinterest account – Rue Magazine. Follow along if you like their style!

Don’t tell my hubby, but I want to add bead board to our downstairs bathroom. It might be his winter project. LOL. I love the look of painted bead board and this handy painting tutorial shares tips to make the job easy.

I’m not too sure about the longevity of this DIY project, but you can see how to fake the look of marble counter tops using contact paper. Has anyone ever tried this? I’d love to know how long it lasts.

Finally, I’ll leave you with this apple cider donut bundt cake recipe that sounds like it melts in your mouth. Looks like I know what I’ll be baking this weekend. Let me know if you give it a try!

  1. Wow, what a beautiful island, also the mini tour of the old/new home. Your too late, lol!! I already painted my bead board, it was a light wood color but had stains from water, looks great now..

  2. The island is just so beautiful, sigh! I don’t think have never seen one quite like this one before. I too would be in heaven if I had this kitchen.

  3. Wowser, I would really, really like to have that pantry in the English home. The Island is a beautiful design. I had to pin the draped hall lights in the older home, cool idea, tho’ I would like fairy lights hung that way, more for the honey do list. Now following Rue. The home in the Hamptons used nature art in such a stunning way that initially it looks like windows. So many talented people out there.
