Can you see yourself sitting in that little green Windsor chair at the end of this farmhouse table, gazing out the window at the morning view? Note the picture rail near the ceiling that makes it easy for hanging artwork. My first home had this feature which I loved.

How about a pale yellow space to enjoy your first cup of joe for the day? Blue wicker chairs gather ’round one side of the table while the other side features banquette seating. Striped shades lend classic style to this light-filled dining nook.

I love when I’m the first one up in the morning and have the house to myself. It’s such a joy to enjoy quiet time listening to the birds sing. And this dining nook – in my opinion – is sheer heaven with its atrium feel. Even in winter this space would be a dream, not to mention what it must be like in the evening with the stars in full view overhead.

How about a jolt of cheery color to get your day going? This is a dining nook all members of the family would love – especially children. You can’t be in a sour mood gathered in a colorful room like this.

If you only like a little bit of color, consider adding chairs in your favorite shade. French doors allow plenty of natural light to flood the space, illuminating the bright green seating. Plants enhance the organic vibe.

And finally, a farmhouse style space in a simple black and white color palette. A woven pendant light takes center stage over the natural wood table and Windsor chairs. Plenty of pillows soften the built-in bench beneath the sunny window.

And finally, here’s my humble dining nook taken last Christmas. Oftentimes, this is where I work on my blog. I like to keep the window open on pleasant days so I can hear the birds outside or listen to the laughter of neighborhood kids at the park across the street.
