Create a Restaurant Worthy Dining Space

dining room decor November 18, 2020

Much of the country is enforcing more stringent gathering rules as the virus gains momentum. Indoor dining is not allowed where I live and I sure to miss it. So why not create a restaurant worthy dining space to enjoy some home cooked meals for the time being?

I’ve chosen smaller dining nooks for today’s post because in my house, it’s just hubby and me. To add a little ambiance – whether your dining room is large or small, add a pretty tablecloth like this white chenille beauty. I’ve been known to use blankets, throws, and even curtains for table cloths. Let your imagination run free!

A Brooklyn townhouse enjoys a very charming nook in the kitchen with soft lighting and cheery colors. Add a couple of plants for an organic vibe.

Upholstered seating always feels comfy and lends a bit of elegance. Just be careful not to spill while eating!

Most of us don’t have ceilings like this in our homes but it sure is pretty. Play up any architectural details you might have with contrasting paint or stain.

A striped table runner in bold colors matches the intensity of the sunlight streaming through this dining space window. A faux fur throw adds softness to the rattan chair.

Consider swapping out existing lighting for a new look. I’m looking for a new pendant light for my breakfast nook. I decided my black one isn’t quite right for the space.

Create a restaurant worthy dining space with cloth slip covers for your chairs. These are easy to throw in the wash if you happen to spill and the room looks soft and feminine with them.

Stay safe through the holidays and make wise choices that are right for you. It’s a tough time for all of us but I pray you’ll find joy in simple things each day!
