Discover the Timeless Charm of a Light and Airy Kitchen Design
Step inside today’s light and airy kitchen in the home of designer Suzanne Kasler. Featured in Southern Living magazine, I think you’ll enjoy the room’s traditional style with touches of cottage style. The cabinets and walls wear the same color of Linen White paint by Benjamin Moore to create a clean canvas for adding details and floral window coverings. Upholstered bar stools lend just a touch of softness to the clean lines of the space.
Employing a less is more approach when it comes to a color palette, the designer chose white marble countertops and large tiles for the backsplash. The apron sink is a Shaws original.
The white six-by-nine-inch tiles are from Waterworks and feature a textured glaze. I like the warmth of the cream-colored paint in this light and airy kitchen.
This area is the kitchen’s pantry and showcases open shelving for colorful cookbooks, paired with traditional cabinetry. Large windows allow natural light to flow in. Dark wood floors look especially rich next to the room’s light colors.
When remodeling the kitchen, the floor plan was kept intact but new cabinets were introduced. The look is clean, classic and refreshing. I love that the window valances and pillows are the only textiles adding color and pattern. It allows your eye to flow seamlessly through the space.
Who wouldn’t want to start and end their day here in the sweet little dining nook? A built-in, l-shaped bench mimics the cabinetry, with drawers to create more storage area.
