Town and Country Living is a blog about living life where the western ‘burbs of Chicago give way to the farm fields of Illinois. I love both the city and the country and want to write about all of it … urban and rural scenery, decorating with special finds from nearby boutiques, cooking veggies grown in the garden, special places to visit, and more. This past Saturday we took a little trip to Garfield Farm, which is just three miles from my house.
This beautifully restored brick home is the main building on the Farm
and open for tours during the summer and fall.
Isn’t this a cute porch with its little farm table and unique light fixture?
Several quaint barns and outbuildings dot the property.
And then there are the fences … lots of country fences!
Beautiful against the snowy carpet …
A variety of buildings, both big and small.
Another white outbuilding … this one houses wild turkeys.
And these little guys roam the property at will.
So cute! I’ve never seen geese like this trek through the snow in a line.
Rustic barns just make my heart sing!
Especially when they come complete with an equally rustic wagon.
I took so many pictures … I need to save a few for a future post.
But all in all, it was a beautiful day down on the farm.
What a beautiful spread! Thanks for sharing with the newbie party.
These photos are just beautiful. I love barns and fences and the outdoors. And you have snow!! Great post. Have a super week! Pamela
That is the best part of living close to a city but not in it. You get the best of both worlds. The farm was beautiful with the snow.
