English Country Style and a Cape Cod Home Tour: Friday Finds

This week finds a bit of chaos in our home because we’ve got too many projects going on. Nothing major, but changes to the kitchen, dining room, living room, and bathroom. And right now I kind of want to put everything on pause to enjoy the beautiful fall season. Since I work full-time, I treasure my weekends with family, enjoying nature, and doing all those outdoor things I didn’t do in summer. Do you feel the same way?

Today’s Friday Finds are sure to whet your appetite when it comes to decorating. I’m grateful there are gifted decorators and designers to inspire us to make the most of those special places we call home.

Let’s start with a stunner today. A gorgeous Cape Cod home is just waiting for you to see its beauty, both inside and out. The designer employed a soft approach to color and pattern, and the result is so dreamy!

Next up, is a renovated Airstream camper that features a fun mix of color and pattern. Who knew a camper could look so good? It makes camping a bit of a treat!

Lately I’ve been swooning over English country style and my friend Janet of Shabbyfufu shared her take on this trending decorating style. Head on over to her blog to see her tips for creating English country style. Thanks, Janet!

I’ve always been a fan of craft projects that use book pages. I don’t physically alter vintage books, but you can find lots of cheap, softcover romance novels to use for crafts. Today I found an adorable book page ghost garland for Halloween that doesn’t require any glue! I think I need to make these with the grandkids.

A few weeks ago I wrote a post about creating a cozy corner in the home, and then this week I stumbled across an article on Better Homes and Gardens’ website about charming reading nooks. The next book on my reading list is Winterset Hollow which I saw on Instagram. I know you’re not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but I often do and loved the cover of this one.

Last weekend the family went apple picking at Kuiper’s, an apple and pumpkin farm just down the road from my house. I went to school with the owner (we “went steady” for three weeks in middle school). Anyway, I brought home a bag of honey gold apples and they’re almost all eaten. So I need to go back and get some baking apples to make my apple upside down cake, which is easier to make than it might look. It makes such a pretty presentation on the table.

This weekend is flea market weekend so my daughter Bridget and I are going to head out in search of treasures. What do you have planned for the weekend? Something fun, I hope!
