Fall Farmhouse Tour ~ Part One

fall decorating, farmhouse style, home tour September 16, 2015

Welcome to my Fall home tour! As a blogger, I love this time of year because there’s a lot of online parties to join. Today I’m celebrating Fall Home Tour week organized by Brenda at Cozy Little House. I enjoy seeing what my fellow bloggers are up to … there’s so much creative talent to inspire and motivate! I do hope you’ll visit my fellow bloggers’ home tours listed at the end of this post.  But for now, here’s my Fall farmhouse tour.

Fall Wreath on Farmhouse DoorA simple DIY Fall wreath greets you at the front door, setting the stage for the autumn season. I’m not a big decorator when it comes to Fall … I think that’s because I’m saving up my decorating mojo for Christmas!

Farmhouse Family RoomInside, a few new pillows bring fall color into my family room. I still have my burlap swag curtains in place, paired with Roman shades to add privacy in the evenings. I get a lot of questions about my big wall clock … I found it at Hobby Lobby.

Farmhouse Family RoomMy Fall pillows are from Home Goods. I love these because they’re the perfect size for my sectional, and they come in pairs for just $25 (so just $12 each). Unzip the covers to wash them. They’re soft and cushy, too.

Fall Decor in a Farmhouse Family RoomAbove the sectional, I added metal letters that spell “FALL”, layering them atop a tin ceiling tile.

Fall Decor in Farmhouse Family RoomI simply hung the letters from a thick piece of twine, using wooden clothespins to keep them in place. You can find the metal letters at Hobby Lobby. They were half price when I found them!

Fall Vignette with Vintage BottlesOn the coffee table, a simple Fall vignette consists of oak leaves tucked into a vintage bottle.

Fall Vignette Since I have a few blue pillows, I added a few touches of blue accents with wooden balls I found (also at half price) at Pier One. I love finding things on sale, don’t you?

Fall Vignette with Vintage BooksVintage books complete the look of my Fall vignette. When in doubt, decorate with books!  They add color and they go with any style decor. You can’t go wrong!

Fall Vignette with Vintage BooksMy family room bookcase is filled with vintage books in varying colors.

Fall Vignette with Vintage BooksA simple white ironstone bowl sits on top filled with colorful leaves.

Fall Vignette with Autumn FlowersEarly Fall flowers add additional color in the room. I like using natural touches in every room.

Farmhouse Family RoomWith just a few quick touches, my farmhouse family room is ready for the autumn season.

I kept things fairly simple in my dining room too …

Fall Decor in a Farmhouse Dining RoomA bowl of over-sized faux acorns on the dining table echo the earthy colors of my bamboo script rug underfoot. Yellow flowers in a stone crock add a pop of Fall color.

Dining Hutch with White Ironstone in Farmhouse Dining RoomIn the corner, my dining hutch is filled with pieces from my white ironstone collection.

Zinnias in White Ironstone Mini PitcherZinnias from my garden add sunny color.

Fall VignetteTwo of my favorite collectibles … white ironstone and brown vintage bottles, make for a great Fall vignette. A floral spray gets tucked inside the pitcher for easy decor.

Vintage Buffet in Farmhouse Dining RoomOn my dining buffet, colorful mums take center stage in a Harvest basket.

Fall Mums in a Harvest BasketOur local garden center was selling these baskets for a few dollars, and since the mums fit inside perfectly, I couldn’t resist taking one home.

Fall Vignette with Zinnia in Vintage BottleA pretty yellow Zinnia from the garden takes refuge in one of my dirty little bottles.

Zinnia in Vintage Aqua BottleA bright orange Zinnia complements one of my vintage aqua bottles.

Can you tell I have a bit of a fetish for old bottles?

Farmhouse Dining RoomMy dining room centerpiece is just a white ironstone bowl filled with faux acorns. I don’t believe seasonal decorating has to be fussy … sometimes less is best.

Fall Decor in My Farmhouse KitchenI recently shared some of my kitchen’s fall decor.

Fall Decor in My Farmhouse KitchenA colorful mum, a few ceramic pumpkins are all that’s needed, along with burlap-wrapped flower pots sitting on the windowsills above the kitchen sink.

Farmhouse Fall Tour

In a couple weeks, I’ll share the rest of my Fall farmhouse tour!

Hi Jennifer, I was just looking over your crusty bottle blogs & had to chuckle for I have a collection of the same exact ones. Mine are courtesy of the hubby’s occupation of “playing in the dirt”, & being on job sites especially in Chicago & finding them for me in a dig. His team comments that instead of flowers I get a boxes of dirty old bottles….I also get some really unique rocks/boulders too…for a our landscape …lol. I’m thinking of reworking my curio cabinet to just have a shelf of them & backlit at night for a pretty blue, Aqua, & amber glow….but I think a few will sport flowers some wildflower too now….
