Spring is in the air and flowers are beginning to bloom in the yard. I always love cutting flowers and bringing them inside to enjoy and admire. Today I’m sharing ideas for brightening your home with fresh flowers.

Blue hydrangeas grace the kitchen table while white gladiolas decorate the countertop. I recently bought an Easter lily for my dining room table. They’re so fragrant! I plan to get one for my bedroom, too.

When you start planning your flower beds, consider the types of flowers you might want to bring indoors for a pop of color. Vibrant peonies add rich shade of deep pink in the almost all-white kitchen.ย

Remember when arranging flowers that they don’t have to be perfect. I love the asymmetrical design of this arrangement featuring hydrangeas and pink berries in a stoneware pitcher.ย

Stuff a large piece of pottery with cuttings from your yard. This arrangement becomes the focal point of the living room.ย

A sweet bouquet of orange tulips is the perfect adornment of fresh flowers for a light and airy breakfast nook. If you don’t want to cut tulips from the yard, you can find bunches of them in most grocery stores this time of year. I have a couple of faux tulip arrangements that I keep out most of the year.

I’ve always loved the combination of blue and purple and it looks so pretty in this simple centerpiece.ย

When you want to set an impressive table, line the center of it with fresh flowers. This would be great for a holiday or special event like a bridal shower.

For something simpler, consider an elegant but dainty orchid. They’re surprisingly easy to care for since they don’t need a lot of fuss or water.

  1. Such pretty arrangements! I need to do something today!! Iโ€™m in Ontario Canada and the past few days have been wet flurries and freezing rain! Couple that with grey skies and it is pretty gloomy. Fresh flowers for the win!!

I am definitely going to replicate that on our front door!
