Friday Finds #16: A Glamping Vacation
Happy Friday, Friends! This week has blown by and I’m glad it has because next week is my first-ever glamping vaction! It’s just a 2-night mini vacay to get away from it all and immerse myself in nature.
Hubby and I booked a charming little yurt located on a mostly private, small lake in Wisconsin. It’s less than a 2-hour drive from the house and is settled on 40 acres of scenic land. Kayaks and canoes are available for our use and I can’t wait to get out on the lake and just chill.
I was surprised to find this little getaway so close to home. The yurt is secluded but located not too far from a small Wisconsin town and winery! We’re going mid-week so things should be pretty peaceful. I’ll be sure to take pictures and let you know about my first experience with glamping. There’s no bathroom – just a port a potty! We do have a portable cast iron grill we’re taking with us for cooking. Should be fun!
Here’s this week’s Friday Finds:
Since my little yurt vacation is on the horizon, I thought I’d share this gorgeous Whidbey Island retreat that features a few little glamping units on the property. But seriously, you have to see the main house which is gorgeous!
You’ve probably heard that wallpaper is making a comeback and it’s easy to see why when you see this dining room transformation.
Here’s a super cute fall craft idea for making wax paper lanterns with pretty fall leaves that can be used with battery-operated votives.
Have I shared my Apple Upside Down Cake recently? I was so nervous the first time I made it but it was really easy and I think it looks so pretty. Perfect for apple picking season!
Finally, with the chaos of fires and hurricanes happening today, you might enjoy a zen moment with a little greenery. Whether you indulge in a new houseplant or add some garden mums outdoors, plants can help with relaxation.
Hope you all have an amazing weekend – whether that means hunkering down at home for a little me time or trying something new!
Any chance you can tell me where this is in Wisconsin. It is something I have been looking for. Thanks
Hi Sherri!
Here’s the link to the yurt listing on Airbnb. I’ll write a blog post about our stay soon after we get back. 🙂 It has great reviews.

I love those tent rooms on the home tour. They are adorable, and the main house ain’t too bad either. Thank you, Jennifer. Hope you have a great weekend too.
